Richy, you should definitely do a camping trip into the desert if you get the chance or have the time. The night sky is totally amazing, you can see the milky way so much clearer. My wife and I did a camping trip into the empty quarter the last time we went to the Sultanate of Oman, we felt as if we could just reach up and touch the stars while sitting on top of a sand dune at 10 o'clock at night.

Really enjoyed watching this series of videos. I was in Morocco last September/October, like you I was blown away with the country, the roads and most of all the people. I managed to get the star picture in Rides Feb issue so a bonus. I'll certainly be heading back. 👍

It just keeps getting better and better. When you finally come to the UAE to ride with me, in addition to taking you to Oman, I'll take you to the Empty Quarter. It's not as big as the Sahara, but still mind blowing. Huge red dunes as far as you can see. I don't know if I ever mentioned it, but my wife's family migrated to France from Algeria after the war.

I think you have definitely done this journey at the right time of year. You certainly would not want to be doing it when it is 40 degrees.

I’ve been there many times as I already told you in my comment to your last video and I can surely say this represents riding through Marrocos better than any video I’ve seen! You’re brilliant! In MERZOUGA , if you want to go there again and especially if if go with your wife, book the Aubergue du Sud. It’s a big Riad but with an amazing swimming pool right next to the Erg Chebby dune.

If you need to lube your chain and have no chain spray find a small container and empty the dregs which are always left in the diesel pump at a gas station into it and beg, borrow, steal a old tooth brush. Then use the diesel fuel to lube your chain. Works a treat and its a decent enough lube to get you out of trouble. Probably best to use it sparingly in the sandy conditions though!!! Great video, well jealous !!!

Hi Richy! I heard your front brakes squeaking a bit. Ive got the same bike as Big Lad #1 and it comes from the calipers probably not 100% centered when reinstalling the front wheel. As you did recently. The trick is to loosen slightly the 14mm front caliper bolts, apply the brakes at the lever and retighten them to the torque (45NM) while the pressure is on. Calipers are centered and the noise disappears. I keep getting Honda 2024 ATAS adverts!! I think they are paying attention 😎

Yes, the pads will bed in again over time. Not to worry as it doesn’t affect overall brake power. Ride safe and thank you again for showing us this ridding heaven with such lovely people ✌️

Loved the video, Richi! It is a personal choice to hand out money to kids in developing countries but I don’t do it. Some parts of the world travellers are mobbed by local kids with their hands out. In others they throw stones if they don’t receive something. Anyway, great video!

The scenery is amazing. What i am enjoying is your interaction with Moroccan people. I was arrested and spent a day in Jail in Algeria about 35 years ago. They were actually quite nice. Strange place. I think its gone a bit crazy since then. I was on the edge of the Sahara in Mauritania 40 odd years ago it was kind of interesting constant wind and blowing sand reminded me of the Sand People from Star Wars.
