@@aaronnilestoussaint5672one of the biggest issues with Xavi, I always thought, is not teaching his players to play with their brains. That Barcelona defense is mindless all season. Common sense didn't exist in their football for the majority of the season. If someone watched earlier in the season, they would know that they blacked the basic fundamentals of the game that any good coach would instill in them. They need a better manager.

I remember when a similar incident happened between Benzema and Vini jr. Vini took it upon himself to improve and work on his game. This is the difference between the state of both clubs
@IscoMadrid-fd7fy
@IscoMadrid-fd7fy 13 күн бұрын
Vini went on a tv show and talked about that day. He said that Benz always had a great affection for him and that he always tried to help him. When that happened, Benz came to him a day later to talk with him. Vini said that he never took it in a negative way since Benz did everything for him on the field. He always advised him to do the right things and Vini said that there was no reason for him to be sad about it. That being confronted was good. This is how a player should deal with criticism. Vini and Benz became one of the most fearsome duo's in Europe after that, winning the UCL and knocking out giants from Europe whilst also dropping masterclass performances against Barca. Lets see if Barca players also have that in them. When you get criticism from the most experienced players, you listen and improve your game.

I remember that game. I bet a lot of players say something similar to Benzema when the mics can’t pick up their conversation. Vini was playing really horribly in that game but he was much younger and less experienced. Benz and Vini became friends afterwards and created an amazing attacking trio along with Rodrygo.

I’ve never understood why last defenders feel the need to take down attacking players instead of just letting them go in on goal. Particularly early on in the game like Araujo did and with Barca up by two goals on aggregate. Some situations call for it but players also need to use situational awareness and realize that even conceding a goal in certain situations, especially while up by multiple goals early on in a match, is better than having your team play a man down for most of the match. Too many times it’s not worth it and the objective opportunity cost is actually all wrong when players do it.

For football sake, they were 2 goals up, playing at home with the fans help and if you had the ability to come back and win the first leg that would have been a perfect decision 'Let him face the goalie' ,not saying they should always give the opponent spaces to try the goalie... Barcelona is not a team that can win or defend with 10 men. At least not this Barcelona. They basically have one good formation or strategy and no alternative solutions. Xavi also made a stupid sub by taking out Yamal instead of Pedri who was useless and being pushed around all first half. Despite that they were close from scoring and equalizing the score overall multiple times before PSG scored the 4th (they scored it because there was basically no one defending at that point). I don't think what Gundogan said is crazy at all. Funny how these goofs are pointing fingers at Gundo. Gundo is 100% correct. They asked about the red card and he answered correctly. The card changed the game & Aurajo is to blame for that. Pointing fingers at him and lewa for not scoring is comedy. They were not going to win with 1 man down no matter how much they tried. They were getting pressed from beginning to end once Aurajo go the red. Also, comparing their experiences in their low tier teams to a club like Barcelona is laughable. None of you clowns have ever won the Champions league like Gundo has, so comparing yourselves to him and his quality is insane.

yeah after the red it was obvious PSG would dominate with that much time left. they could have held PSG for 15-20 minutes but people forget the red was in the 29th minute with over 60 minutes left on the clock. at that point players like Lewy became defenders.
@avikellerman4539
@avikellerman4539 13 күн бұрын
@@vegan-rising Yup, then they blame the 35 year old striker for not closing down Vitihna "fast enough". Even though he's 35 year old striker and playing completely out of his role and positions...And even though Vitihna was FAR AWAY to begin with and nearly impossible to close down from that distance anyways. It's like these smooth brains don't understand how red cards work. You play with a man down, so there is ALWAYS someone who isn't marked and is open because there aren't enough players to mark every opposing player. But leave it to obscure MLS scrub Ale MORONO to throw shade at Lewy and try to blame him. It seems he expects 35 year old strikers to be prime Maldini or Vidic as defenders. I've heard enough shocking analysis by this former scrub who couldn't even stand out in a league as poor as the MLS in the 2000s...But this take might be the worst one of them all.

I don’t think there’s a problem with what Ilkay Gundogan has said in regards to Ronald Araujo’s red card which was the driving force behind Barcelona’s loss to PSG later in the game. It changed the entire game and in that situation, it’s best to let the attacker score or try to see if the goalkeeper saves a 1v1, because Gundogan is basically saying that you can’t go down to 10 men and expect yourself to win an important champions league game and it’s obvious that he’s frustrated with this loss. Araujo hit back and said that he doesn’t care about what Gundogan thinks about his red card and I have to disagree with him, because before he got sent off, they were up by 2 goals and it looked as if they would hold on, they didn’t mainly because of his red card and they couldn’t find a solution playing with 10 men. This whole “small club mentality” attitude at Barcelona needs to change if they want to be among Europe’s elite again and get back to competing for trophies because Gundogan’s comments are a sign of a serial winner someone who isn’t content with mediocrity. This isn’t the first time he’s publicly criticized the team after a big defeat because remember I think it was after their loss to Real Madrid earlier in the season, he said that the players showed no emotion after a defeat and were happy with leading for most of the game only for Jude Bellingham to then dunk on them with 2 goals in that second half. Do I blame him for the things he saying, absolutely not because this is a guy who’s used to winning because he played on a team that basically wins every week and he went from that playing under Pep Guardiola and some of the best players in the world at Manchester City to now this at Barcelona. After Barcelona beat PSG away from home last week, he’s probably confused on why people are celebrating after just the first leg as if they won the World Cup, because the tie isn’t over after 1 leg. He’s frustrated I get it mainly because on this young team, he’s one of the players that they can look up to and Barcelona need more players like Ilkay Gundogan and get out of this “weak mentality” of accepting defeat and being fine with just the minimum.

They weren't just gonna hold on, they would have probably scored more. They would have definitely won. That was a very stupid decision from Araujo. Barcelona's biggest problem has been intelligence. There are some things which should come naturally at this level along with some common sense which are missing from the team and this is on the manager as well in my opinion. The club needs a big manager and not someone mediocre. Despite most Barcelona fans hating this, I would say Mourinho would do them good for 2 seasons. He would bring back that winning mentality to the team
