Horse Shelter Heroes is back for Season 3! Every week on Thursday evening you can expect to see a video of what happened the previous week at Horse Plus Humane Society's shelter in Hohenwald, TN.

Just unbelievable the shape of that holding yard, the horses...the greed for money is sickening how they let the horses suffer. This was a rough auction rescue with so many horrific injuries....😥

I have an especially soft spot for the big, gentle giant draft horses, and it was wonderful to see the Belgian being rescued. He may be blind, but with love and understanding, he could make someone a very happy owner. He is huge! I was also kind of surprised that the young mare was able to get pregnant at the age of one-and-a-half. I hope she is able to deliver without too much of a problem. Thanks, guys, for all that you do.

Wow! The setup for Sage’s eye care is so clever, very cool! Janna spoke the truth for us all- “ I don’t know how they’re that forgiving.” After the suffering these horses are subject to, they can still thrive with care and kindness. The way they seek comfort even in the worst circumstances at auction inspires both admiration and heartbreak.

There are such beautiful horses and donkey etc. The suffering ones tears my heart out. Being rescued and receiving last act of kindness is such a blessing. Horse Plus is the Heart of Compassion

I do not understand how owners can neglect their horses the way we have seen in your vlogs. My heart is heavy watching them struggle to walk and be so scared due to blindness. You are such a wonderful group of individuals who love these beautiful animals. Poor babes!

I think one part maybe a small part or not of people treating their horses this way especially in Tennessee because as Tawney has let us know. There are pretty much no laws on the book stating you cannot mistreat neglect horses in that state. It completely pisses me off that it is that way. So thank you horse Plus for everything you do. The big draft gelding reminds me of a horse I work with, Noble, who's half percheron and is the sweetest. The draft gelding looks good for a draft coming from auction. You guys are the best! I love the work that you all do!

I am 75 years old and 15 years ago my horses were stolen and threw finding you and what you do for the horses is wonderful.

Awesome video could watch it all night. Wonderful to have your vet tech with you at auction, she does such a good job of explaining what the concerns are on a horses condition. Cory did an excellent job being the big speaking part this time. Music and editing was great as usual. Looking forward to next Thursday will try to be on time LOL

@@pixie706 I'll bet the vet. tech's efficiency when doing the intake runs very smooth and very quickly because she is so knowledgeable! If you watched the other seasons, the auction rescues really put a drain on the staff! Think of how emotional it can be, also a lot of hard work handling frightened and confused and blind animals. Then they get them home and the process of dealing with each horse and getting medical history. These hard working people have got to be just Beat after two days of this and we don't see the half of it (editing!). Then the RAIN! It sure does seem like it rains a lot in TN! Slogging through muck and mud, (dirty laundry!) for 2 days. The staff must need a day to recover! It's easy for us to judge sitting in a warm, toasty house watching from afar with a hot tea my hand! Blessings to All the Staff!

We surrendered our 2 horses to our friends. They needed care that our health wouldn't allow for certain. It was so hard but it was the right thing for them. One is 30, has arthritis and not many teeth left. He sure has the will to live. Until that changes or he's in pain, our friend will monitor him closely. Thanks for all you do. I'm learning a lot!

Very heartwarming episode. And the overall production of this series is improving so much! It's starting to look like stuff I'd watch on Animal Planet! I hope you guys end up with a TV series (one that isn't scripted or over-dramatic. But something that can increase the money flow to you guys even more so more horses can be rescued! You guys should get a patreon!

Great choice to get Jenna on staff. She seems very knowledgeable and comfortable with the horses. With all the medical and weight problems you see, having someone to deal with that every day seems like a very important thing. I really hope you can get more trainers on staff, Cory can't do it all by himself. With the number one goal to get horses adopted, I would think that there would be more of a focus on handling and training. So happy that you were able to save so many at auction.

Right away I noticed the video quality and editing is great! I mostly watch because of the tragedy of the auctions and to see the horses get better and find homes, but the little details are important too.

Love the updates on the auction horses because I always wonder how it worked out for them. Looks like the team is working well together with the new system and so glad too that lots of pain meds were issued before the ride to the shelter.

That draft horse is a beauty! It breaks my heart to see some of the horses in such conditions. And still they are nice - even some of them are in so much pain or scared because they are blind and at the auction. Hard to believe how generous animals are! Glad for every single horse/life you saved! And it must feel amazing for them when they get pain meds and feel a bit better!

I admire your work and that's why I support your organization. I would like to see more social interaction between people and horses other than vet care and training. Socialization is very important too and would be nice to see the pampering going on behind the scenes between these horses and staff.

That's a great idea! I know some of our staff are begging to go trail riding again too, along with the daily feeding, grooming and pampering. :)

First, to the media crew: Amazing job! Love the new music & new methods! The b roll cutaways are great! ❤ Second, to the intake crew: It's amazing how much you get done, & in such a good time frame! So glad you implemented the new system! Third, to the Vet Tech: You do such a fantastic job with intake & getting a good file on each of the horses. Glad you are on the team! And last, but not least, to all of you at HPHS, thank you for all that you do every day for the horses and the people who adopt. Giving everyone a chance to love & live a better life with a horse is a gift that can never be repaid in full. ❤❤❤

Dang it, I missed the premier. I just wanted to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for saving these gorgeous, majestic animals. I know it's not easy seeing the suffering and pain in these animals eyes and making the call to end their pain. It takes a very special person to be in rescue and all of you including your vet team are truly amazing heroes. I have 8 cats, all are rescues and 5 of them were born feral. My baby girl, my princess was only around 4 weeks old and "knocking on deaths door" (per the vet) when I found her on my porch during an East Tennessee thunderstorm, she'll be 3 in June-July.

With the right owner and proper care, blind horses can thrive. Look up Endo the Blind and Zipped in Black Magic, both horses are blind. Gives me hope for the number of blind horses in this video.

I totally agree. This is total neglect. How can people sleep at night knowing they left their horse like that suffering.. All I can say is thank you Horse Plus team for doing your best to pick up and helping these pore horses.

Kory is just a natural behind the camera and such a great asset to Horse Plus. Jenna also is excellent. The quality of the filming is really improved very professional I would just add one criticism filming people from the side when they are talking is disconcerting. But the filming is really good and LOVE the new opening section.

This was so lovely to see this evening. I’ve been waiting for the new season and like everyone else, am always sad when the episode is over. I know I say it every time but you guys really are my heroes. You’re earth angels with the most compassionate, empathetic souls. If I could reach out and hug each and every one of you, I would. So, instead, take my words and be proud of all you do, the gratitude I feel towards you for every horse who steps onto your land, is the biggest hug you could ever feel. I was watching an episode of a Tenerife horse rescue a couple days ago, & they had a donkey like the 3 year old donkey rescued in this episode that Doc said is pregnant. The black stripe gown her side indicates she is a specific breed of donkey from the Canary Islands. I couldn’t quite understand what the Tenerife people called the breed.

Okay, we've seen "Cinnamon", "Comet" and of course a "Nutmeg" how about a "Corriander" or maybe a "Daisy" or "Petunia"? Aren't horses supposed to be 3 yrs or older before it's safe to breed them? Feel so sorry for the 1.5 yr old mare who is unhandled. Horses truely are like angels- they forgive us for many deeds by others and will still trust us. LOL! Tawnee I think the big fellow likes you! Great job Cory….glad you got the job and can work with the donkeys as well as the horses!! Males will get those beans of smegma in their sheath pockets, and need checking monthly and cleaned so they don’t get irritated and swollen! You people are super with these poor babies, and I am sure they are much better off!!❤️❤️❤️

R.I.P. to the 3 horses and the donkey who didnt make it . May these beautiful animals run thru beautiful green pastures across the Rainbow Bridge forever free from pain and suffering .Its awesome that all y'all were able to save 26 horses \ donkeys n mules . Its saddens me that owners throw them away like trash when they no longer want them . They can always call a horse rescue to find a home for them instead of dumping them off . Have a blessed weekend

When the camera panned to Jenna, yelling at one of the horses, saying “ you couldn’t even walk!!”. I couldn’t help laughing at her indignation. Go get em Jenna!!
