What exactly was Jesus charged with that led to His crucifixion? What was His crime? There were two-BLASPHEMY and SEDITION. The charges were not legitimate but they were trumped up by His adversaries. The Jews demanded that Pontius Pilate release Barabbas and crucify Jesus instead. There is an irony in that exchange that Pastor Gary explains for us in today’s teaching entitled, “We are Barabbas.”

I did dwell on what you said, that each and every one of us identifies as Barabus! So aside their crafty plot to kill our Lord, on His holy day....Jesus did have the last say since He sacrificed his life for our sins, and it started w/Barabus and the malefactor! I never saw it that way, and ty for the insight!
