I think the preference for tiles is because Ash is still new to Europe. As a Ugandan living in America, If our first house had had lots of wood inside it, i would have definitely wondered "did we even leave the village". But after some time being in the U.S I completely understand what Evan is saying. Tiles would make the house cold. Heating costs would be up the roof. A fireplace would only do so much
