The technical answer is, with masterful mixing and mastering you can tune and time stretch everything to fit with anything. You can even tune lyrics to be harmonic with every single note. It's amazing what modern tech allows you.

We were playing Starfinder one evening - D&D in space - and one of our members, the Technomancer, had to work, so we played as if he had snuck into the night club we were investigating and we could only talk to him through "comms" ie, text. He rolled a nat 20 to hack the sound system and played this song and chaos ensued. It was the best session of D&D or similar game that we have EVER had.

You can't really do that, if you have the instrumental and the original you can create vocals sometimes but typically people just use the official vocal tracks of the stems.
