We hiked up to a farm abandoned back in the 1800s to do some metal detecting relic hunting and the place was so nice. You could tell reading the landscape history that it was a large New England farm with big fields, pastures and rock walls that went on for miles. We did some detecting around the cellar hole and dug up a few cool old things and then swung around exploring. Metal detecting old places like these deserted and long abandoned farms is amazing.

Hi Charlie, can you start putting camera to the right before you dig? Because when you put it to your left a lot of the time the debris that you dig blocks the view of what you finding the target. It would be nice to be able to see it as you find it.

Catching up on a few hunts. That bird band is a great find. There IS a way to identify the bird and its age if interesting. My father is Ducks Unlimited and has an impressive collection of these from hunting Ducks, Geese & other game birds throughout his entire life. His father before him also gave him some and he would be over 110 years old now, so you might be surprised how old it actually is. Thanks for another interesting hunt.

Racing pigeon band. AU. American Racing Pigeon Union. 97 was year it was hatched. They put the band on when they are small squabs. You found where it went down.

I can't tell you where Dame and Waynos were but I can address you question about Nate's cigar. Since the very beginning of Stealth Diggers, cigars have been used as insect repellent, but given this time of year, I suspect that Nate enjoys a good stogie. - SB
