🎵WE ARE UNITY - ASEAN Song to Fight #Covid19
The “We Are Unity” music video project is a collaboration of former participants of SSEAYP* in support of ASEAN’s solidarity to stay positive & bounce back from the COVID-19 pandemic.
The song conveys the message of friendship, encouragement and unity in fighting this pandemic together as one. The music video also reiterates the importance of doing our part by staying at home (#stayhome) and staying safe (#staysafeASEAN).
*Note:
The Ship for Southeast Asian and Japanese Youth Program (SSEAYP) is an annual youth exchange program sponsored by the Japanese government. It started in 1974 with the purpose of promoting friendship, mutual understanding and strengthening the spirit of international cooperation. Participants from all ASEAN countries and Japan sail on Nippon Maru (a chartered cruise ship) to Japan and around ASEAN countries for about 53 days. The participating youths engage in discussions pertaining social and youth matters, experience cultural exchange and sports activities, interact with local youth, pay courtesy calls to dignitaries, visit local institutions and do community service and experience local stay with host families. Participants are often referred to as youth ambassadors of goodwill.
