After selling EVERYTHING we owned, we bought an abandoned farm with 2 stone houses to renovate in Portugal. It’s been a wild journey so far full of highs and lows, and as 2024 approaches, we’ve been reflecting on our progress from the last year & thought it would be fun to create a timelapse showing our last one year of work in 25 minutes.
Working every week in our spare time to renovate & restore this abandoned farm into a beautiful homestead, we easily forget how far we’ve come & the transformations made so far, so seeing it all put together in this timelapse video has really spurred us on for a productive next year!

Great video, you two are inspiring! You need a fence, so you make one, want a pool so you adapt one, want to grow food so you build a greenhouse & install raised beds, a sickly pup turns up so you nurse her back to health & make her one of the family, need shade so put an awning on the house & so many other projects too many to mention. Everything you do you finish once you've started & your whole attitude to life is the best, I have respect in bucket loads for you both.

@@LifebyLiving Give it time and you will. There is really NOTHING like it in the world. It's indescribable. During the process it can be so frustrating. Tired like you never knew what tired was, busted knuckles, smashed fingers, almost throwing in the towel, etc..but once it's all complete and you get to live in that completed project/dream on a daily basis, then the constant amazement and euphoria sets in and it's the most alive I've ever felt. You just keep realizing you actually pulled it off, when you never thought it would ever happen. There really is nothing like that feeling.

I still cannot get over how great the roof looks, it was amazing that you did it all yourselves. I remember how much work was involved in making the gravel track. Endless trips with a wheelbarrow. And the most labour intensive job of all, putting the world's most complicated greenhouse together. Great work Ricky and Victoria, plus Teddy and Poppy who were happy to observe and supervise at every step of the way.

My husband and I live off grid in the western US. We've been renovating our place and 60 acres for almost 4 years. Every Sunday evening, we settle in to watch our favorite couple in Portugal chip away at their own projects... This is absolutely my favorite channel. You two are the loveliest couple. That comes from someone married 30 years to someone I love, having built a couple of houses together, making it through the good and bad. You always remind me to be thankful. Wonderful video!💕🌻

I think that we are so lucky to have been on this journey with you. A+ marks on the renovation; the olives; the garden; the dogs and all of the little day to day things that make a farm a farm.
