I’m with you on MTH products. I do have a few Lionel engines, such as my Milwaukee S3 steamer, and one VisionLine Southern Pacific G6 steamer my wife let me buy, but over all I’m an MTH guy. Great video as alway, and enjoy looking in. 😎

Nice grabs! I have eyed the buy war bonds too. Just not enough money for everything. I also, would love to get that NYC. I did just end up getting the Lake State Railway MP15. It looks fantastic! The only reason it is only railking, is no smoke. Plus, sometimes you can catch the real only crossing the yard going to Crossroads Village Huckleberry R.R. near Flint. The kids should love seeing the exact same one. Happy R.R.ing 🍻

Man, what a haul you have there, Zach! I particularly like the KCS and NYC steamers you got. Can't go wrong with a steam engine by MTH, as you've experienced many times. A Lionel purchase can turn out to be a disappointment. And you're not alone...I've read many complaints from O gauge collectors around the U.S.. It's of great interest to me that some really big Lionel O gauge full scale collectors never say a word about this sort of thing. I really wonder why? Is it because they're considered to be such big purchasers that they get special treatment? Well, I won't name names, but it sure seems odd. I look forward to your review and run of all these beauties that are new to your layout.

Man what a haul congratulations! I Love that A-2 Berk! I really want one too and have some special nostalgia feelings for that one. Back in 2003 I wanted to get into the O gauge hobby. I had some Bachman HO sets, and G sized battery powered sets from age 4 till then. Originally I wanted a Lionel set as I knew they were “realistic expensive” trains a was told not to touch as a youngster. Then my Dad talked to a guy he worked with and came home talking about another train company Better than Lionel called Railking. At first I was like no way…better than Lionel. I found a hobby shop in my local area that sold them and he explained that for the money the MTH sets gave way more features than Lionel. He gave me my first MTH catalogs vol 1-2 2003 and I remember that A-2 drooling over thinking one day I’d like to have that bad boy. I’ll find one some day. I fully agree on your take with MTH 3 volt. I have a bunch of them too and they are so solid. I do like Lionel sounds a lot and I think the older tmcc stuff runs and sounds great. With a few upgrades you can get some better smoke output, syncing chuff and puff and 4 chuffs and cruise control added where needed and to me they’re right up there with the Legacy stuff and less stress and headache of it failing lol. I do hope Lionel does try correct those issues and treat customers better. Glad you shouted out Tommy Z he’s awesome!! Thanks for sharing your collection and layout! Zack. 100% correct on ps2 3v. So far, I have had no issues with them. Seems the whole build was mth’s best effort in that era. Bought a brand new mth ps3 steamer. Has sounds but no smoke or movement. It is a steamer alrighty. Cold day on someone lawn steamer. Understand the retailer does the warranty work. MTH does not. Hopefully the retailer will cover it. This reinforces my belief that unless, as you say, I gots to have it, and the price is right, ps2 is the way. I too got some treasures at York. Bought from Vinces trains and Bradys. Good peeps. I don't know anybody else but I'm subscribed to your channel. And I love that war bonnet paint scheme That be my first favorite one out of this video in the second favorite engine out of this video that I like is the Berkshire loco. Those were my tow favorite locos that I like.

You can buy chain at Michaels. They have small packages of jewelry chain in various color or metals. Then you buy a roll of gold/brass looking chain. You can then easily rust it up. Then just get a very small or matching bit to drill holes to attach the chain to the flat car. But Michaels in the jewelry section.

The great Northern / pennsy electric is very interesting. Amazing that it can run on our o gauge curves. It’s one of the few MTH pennsy electric I don’t have, since it’s a Fantasy what if engine. Interestingly the Pennsy did acquire a number of Great Northern electrics in the 50s after the end of GN electric operation. These were the Y1 boxcabs which became the Pennsy FF2 boxcabs. It would have been cool if they had gotten a W1 too.

Great haul Zak. The PRR W1 isn’t prototypical because only Great Northern had W1s in their fleet. Still a nice engine. Would love to go to York someday.

None of us have a problem until we run out of money 😂 Great taste with the latest pick ups. I think Tony’s going to get me on one of those CP high cubes…. Make sure you have a TON of patience working with the chains for the loads. It’s mentally exhausting 🫠 Excited to get going on these gondolas. Hope you enjoy them!!
