Sorry to be that person, but you can't use these types of masks for corona protection. The filter filters out particles of things like dust and doesn't filter the air you breathe out.

@@nocarbonationtm21 I mean it's obviously not going to be the same as like a PAPR spacesuit, but those types of dust masks are actually excellent for COVID protection for the average person. The dust filters are usually meltblown/spunbonded and similar or close to N95 in performance. They would offer far superior protection to any of the reusable cotton or disposable procedural masks most people are wearing. That said, you are correct that they would do very little to protect others as the exhalation valves do not filter the air you breathe out, leaving people around you vulnerable if you are a carrier/spreader. But that's easily remedied by sealing or taping over the valves.

If you put netting on the bottom, it will prevent flies and bugs from getting in on the bottom and still let air in.

I had a similar thing, but my cat found a way to destroy the case, he poke a hole on the net and ran away, but he's a smart kittie and returned home after a few hours

Yeah, stapes were not strong enough for my cat (a while ago did this). He came back the next night hungry. Same w the magnet top, that would last about 20 mins. Switched to chicken wire. Solved.

We just let our cat go outside. They will come back. We recently moved only a few kilometers away and after two weeks we let our cat outside again and it always comes back. Unless you don't have cat friendly neighbors I don't get why people don't let their cats outside. Just make them scared of crossing the road if you're worried about them getting run over. Cats love to be outside.

@@KiemPlant Traffic (you can't train a cat to not cross the road), People who lay poisoned snacks, Predators, Diseases from prey, People who steal animals, Stray cats (fights, more diseases), People bringing pets to the shelter, fleas, ticks who carry diseases and other things that lower the life span of an outside cat immensly. Even Jackson Galaxy, an expert on cats, recommend to keep cats indoors because indoor cats can be just as happy as outdoor cats without the many, many risks.

@@ronlaverdiere All animals kept in captivity live significantly longer than their wild counterparts- any zoologist will tell you that; they'll also tell you how hard it is to keep the animals happy, hence why they have to keep coming up with ideas to 'enrich' their lives. It's not natural or fair on an outdoor animal to keep it locked up indoors out of fear for what might happen to it; you just have to deal with reality and accept bad things happen sometimes. All of our family cats over the years lived perfectly happy long lives into their 20s and they were never confined indoors- some cats get ran over, killed by predators, fight other cats etc etc, that is just a fact of life for outdoor animals.

@2:00 is actually a blessing in disguise! Cement has a natural amount of moisture so any wood in contact with it has the chance to develop rot. Plus, if your wood warps, you have adjustable legs! -- Side note, I made a catio thanks to this video and its ABSOLUTELY the greatest thing I could have ever made for my cats. Thank you for the idea!!

Yeah, some go through, but some bounce off, even if the pebbles are significantly smaller than the holes in the fence. My daughter is an interior designer who specializes in interior space planning. Her architecture firm does pro bono work for non-profit organizations for community outreach. One of her pro bono clients is the director of a no-kill cat shelter who asked for their help to remodel an old building to accommodate an expansion to the shelter. When my daughter was making a site visit to take field measurements and interview the client to identify her design needs for the space, the client was especially keen to have a screened-in space where the cats could be outdoors, but, protected and not a threat to local wildlife. Daughter: "So, you want a catio?" Client: "Yes!!"

I have an idea for your cat! So, you guys could decorate the Catio with a fluffy custom cat bed, a little shelf with some cat toys, and then some miniature replicas of past cat projects!😺😋 Altogether, it would make a little cat room in the catio! ( also you could add little waterproof curtains) Maybe even add a little light!

Holy cow I can't believe you did one of those 👍👍. I knew a lady who used window screens in the openings. She would hand paint gardens on them. You can still see thru them from inside, and looking at them from outside, you see whatever scene you painted. Very classy. Depending on weather in your area you can put a canopy on for sun or rain protection. A coir doormat on the floor is a great claw surface and fur remover. Joobie looks right at home. God bless you.

Guys you HAVE to secure the top in a different way. Those 3d printed magnet holders will deteriorate under the sun at some time and the kitty will be able to push through. At least I know mine would lol. There would be a period of sitting there like a good boy and after 10 days or more he would start probing the cage for weaknesses.

Haha luckily our cat doesn't really want out (we leave the door open often and she just sits and watches) but if it looks like it's not strong enough to withstand wind we'll add more magnets or a latch 😸👍

Magnets embedded into the frame and a steel frame around the plexi would be perfect. That way, you get the added weight of the metal to stop tiny paws pushing the top away, and the magnets are sealed and covered :)

Everything is based of CATS and I LOVE it.in fact my stepsister and my step dad at moving in soon with 2 new cats to join my cats and I’m a art and design nerd.i want to make this for the cats but it’s 3 floors,has a mini pool and has a Bathroom plus an aquarium and kitchen with a dining area and they all get their own rooms

I don't know why I didn't watch this until now. It's the very first video of yours I saw on my recommended. It was on there so many times. Then another video was on there so I watched it. I think it might have been the resin pencil one but then a few videos later I realized this was one of your videos. Then I still didn't watch it and it was on my recommended a lot. Hey love your channel, you guys are just the cutest couple I've ever seen on KZfaq or TV! Love listing to you both banter during your projects and even podcasts. It's just awesome how much you both love each other and your baby girl! I listened to your "proposal" podcast and loved it. I am so happy you guys ended up together, marrying your best friend has to be the best! Back to the patio/catio lol, I rescue quite a few and have built mine a good size catio. A couple of my kitties showed up on the property (dumped) these love the outdoors so much! A catio provides them with the safety they need. I added a couple of gardens with kitty friendly plants in mine, good way for them to get dirt under their feet, lay in grasses and flowers - get everything they want/need LoL. I know you've mentioned you are thinking of doing a larger catio project for her, if you guys do end up making a bigger one for the "Supurrvisor" LOL, perhaps think about adding some space for a couple of chairs in there? I think she would love to have both of you join her. Mine all come out as soon as they hear me open the back door to join me in their catio. Don't mean to be forward, about ideas, you guys come up with the best ideas! I watch your shows to learn how to make things. Please keep up the good work! Best to both of you and hope you guys will soon be able to take a nice break - I know working full time on your channels is very tiring - make sure you take some time out for yourselves okay.

This doesn't have much to do with a Catio, but I've had the honor of meeting you two today at Lowe's (in a blue shirt and tie) and I probably seemed a bit awkward saying hi. But I wanted you two to know that because of you and the other Makers on this platform, I have been inspired to start a Maker Space at our high school. We used hardware cloth on our catio, more expensive but it's very strong and the cats can't tear it. There's a coyote problem here and we wanted something stronger to keep them safe. Our big bull tomcat would tear through mesh. We had a single layer of chicken wire on their running path but birds were getting in so we added a second layer which took care of the problem. Mice can get through the chicken wire and the cats love that, we get gifts every couple of days.

I enjoyed watching you make Supurrvisor Shack. Mine is 30 feet wide & 8 feet deep. I comfortably seats 15 (laying down on the sill) but I only have 4 Supurrvisors as of now. I have to use treats to get them to come back in because they love it so much. I also call mine screen porch as I use it too. I am human btw.
