‎ This is a local wholesaler of ours. This is not the one we do unboxings of normally. Here we can go and pick the fish out in person if we want. Today we came looking for bettas, and koi mostly. However when you see a good healthy fish, you always buy it for the store knowing a hobbyists will want it.
When it comes to fish wholesalers, each one is different and has different focuses. I often get asked what wholesalers I use, as other businesses want to use them. You need to find wholesalers that work for you, as in they have similar water parameters, fish you need, pricing structures that make sense etc. Shipping a fish across the country adds price, having different water makes acclimating more difficult etc.
I find typically wholesalers will focus in either community fish, bettas, goldfish, african cichlids, or saltwater. Picking one of those as their main attraction and the rest to fill in the holes. You want to pick someone who specializes what your store specializes in.
