WATCH SCAMMER PAYBACK'S VERSION: • $35,000 AirBNB Scammer...
EPISODE 1: • CONFRONTING A SCAMMER ...
EPISODE 2: • Intercepting a Scammer...
We caught a money mule scammer. Red Handed. On Camera. We’ve teamed up with @Scammer Payback from KZfaq to investigate and confront the thieves, mules and masterminds behind the vicious and despicable scams infesting our phones, and our wallets. For the first time in Trilogy Media history, we’ve come face to face with a money mule scammer. This is Trilogy Media, and you’re watching SCAMMED!
The Refund scam. A web of deception starting with a call center, claiming to owe you money for your expired computer security services. They remote connect to your computer to process your fake refund, and then manipulate your online banking to make the victim THINK they’ve been refunded - but “accidentally“ at a much higher amount, again this time at $30,000. They then play on the emotions of the victim, saying they’ll lose their job unless they send them that money BACK. This scammer wants the payment, in cash, mailed to a home address in San Francisco California.
We’re taking extra precautions this time as this got a little bit dangerous, so we’re referring to the scammer as Mr. X. Thanks to our friend Pierogi at Scammer Payback, he’s baited this scammer all the way up to the finish line. Mr. X thinks he’s in for a big payday. Pierogi did mail a package, but there’s no cash inside. Only paper scraps and magazines. Everything is set to go - only step remaining is to see exactly who is behind the front door.
As with all public videos on our channel, this is completely free, so we’d very much appreciate it if you’d click subscribe on the Trilogy Media KZfaq Channel, and turn on post notifications so you don’t miss any future uploads. We also want to thank our sponsor Multi-Visions for helping to make these videos possible. Multi-Visions has the best products on the market to protect your computer from viruses, malware, and many other cyber security threats, and they have some amazing opportunities for computer product resellers. Find them at Multi-Visions.com, and mention Trilogy Media to get 50% off your order.
What evil force is waiting for us behind that door? What will they have to say? And how are they going to feel coming face-to-face with Trilogy Media and the entire world? Find out right now, in a shocking new episode of SCAMMED!

If you want to actually involve the police AND have them arrested like they should be, just put some real money or a money order in the box. Even $5-$10 and BOOM, you are the victim and the police have a case to arrest them for mail fraud and money laundering. This kid was 1000% not telling you the truth, he was trying to protect himself from getting in trouble. I guarantee you he is still at this and just on to the next one.

@Jay Theyme You cannot possibly assess his familial situation or not worth based on a partially obscured video. Wearing a certain sweatshirt does not always directly correlate to having "lots and lots of money". I have a Louis Vuitton bag, and I'm broke as fuck. Furthermore, he is an immigrant in the United States. That's all you know about him. Let's ease up on the prejudice. You dont know anything about this guy or what kind of life he is living, not do you know the reasons that led him to get involved with shady business like this. Desperation can drive the best of people to the most evil of deeds.

Recommendation from prior law enforcement....please dont ever give the bad guy possible answers when you are questioning them...don't give them a single idea or a list of ideas or they might just pick one as an easy option and then they lead you down a bad line of questioning where you are helping them with their own story. Excellent job tracking down these losers though! Im proud of you guys for sticking your necks out and doing this because normal law enforcement and businesses cant do anything usually as you learned first-hand while making these videos. We all need to push for new legislation to prevent these crimes, we need red flag scammer legislation (seriously) to help shut down mailboxes and postal addresses that are part of a scam network and we need to arrest the mules and go after all parties involved in these scam networks, including cooperating with Interpol.

Agreed! I think it’s unfortunate how flawed the law enforcement process is. I imagine that they would save a lot more time, energy, and people if they took a more proactive and preventative approach to crime, rather than solely focusing on being reactive after crimes happen. These guys have literally given them so many really good leads that they won’t even investigate because the crime “hasn’t happened yet.” This is a very counter productive approach to crime solving.
@JeffCD77
@JeffCD77 3 жыл бұрын
If you were in prior law enforcement, you should be telling these guys to stop what their doing and leave it to professionals, or else they, or someone else is going to get hurt. Their confrontation and questioning is all wrong and they will never get the answers they need. People are saying that the police can't do anything, etc. It's because none of this is done properly and none of the right people are involved.

Evil Deeds Now that's obviously and painfully untrue. I used to have a channel long ago where I called and messed with scammers, and I got a lot of info that I could have used to report them... That is, if I had even thought of that as a possible option. I tried to stop a scam once by calling my local dispatch office and filing a police report, and this is when I was in high school. It should be noted that the police did nothing to fix the scam; they didn't even so much as follow up with me to tell me the case would not be pursued any further because it was declared that much of a waste of time to them. As such, the thought of reporting that info to the FBI never even crossed my mind, and even now as you point it out I scoff at the idea because it's completely unfounded. Do you really think the FBI is going to do anything with a report of scammers stealing people's money from overseas when they can barely handle crimes being committed in their own country? TM aren't scammers for not calling the FBI about this; they've actually got common sense.
@enigmarocker

@SsSs RoBbSs these guys arent advanced to your point about it being incorrect. My comment was specific to what they are trying to do in this type of scenario...theyre not questioning 5 different people to see if their stories jive; they only have one person to question and shouldnt supply answers...but I do get your point in other scenarios. I agree this video was a waste with how they handled it. I would have driven to the next drop point with this scammer mule that they caught.

There could have been more people there, they could be carrying weapons...a caged animal can be deadly. Plus, they can be putting themselves in legal turmoil. If they don't approach things correctly, the law could be against them too. Trespassing, taking someone's private property...and mail fraud isn't a thing when it wasn't sent through the system. 22:20 interrogation tip: • ask open ended question Biggest tip: • when you ask a question; wait for an answer. If he is quiet and you ask a question. Wait for an answer. Quit yapping. You constantly keep asking questions and if he don’t answer the question you kept either; yapping off and kept playing with his ego or you ask a different question or you ask the same question in a different form. Ask an open ended question and wait for an answer. If he quiet; bask in the silence and wait for an answer. There was a point where you asked who Mr X is and your partner kept telling him to put his hands in front and he got nervous and went quiet and then you went and asked a different question. Just ask one question and wait.

@@nutt2252 When someone asks a question and then waits for an answer, and there's nothing but silence, already uncomfortable people will be made more so because most people hate the silence and will want to fill it. People who aren't trained to resist that temptation to fill the silence will maybe begin with non answers, non sequitur's, but eventually they'll get tired of hearing the same question and then silence, so they'll wind up telling the truth anyway. Op is right, it just takes longer. The questioner just has to have more patience than the one they're questioning.

Actually, chances are that cops won't bother arresting you for shoplifting something worth $1. But in this particular case, I still agree that it would probably make a difference because the cops would gladly use the $1 as an excuse to arrest someone that they know has stolen thousands.

Put in a single pill of a prescription drug. Some guy stole a car and crashed it in my front yard. The police caught him because the 4x4 from my fence got jammed between his wheel and the wheel well on his front wheel drive car so he decided to walk down the sidewalk like nothing happened. The car he stole belonged to a pharmaceutical representative with samples in the trunk. Grand theft auto, reckless endangerment, felony possession.

At the same time his conversation with the guy on the phone made it clear that he knows that what he's doing is illegal. @@JPMJPM Ashton and Art don't really need to be concerned, in my opinion.. If they were to do anything to them (something I've barely ever heard of in years of scammer research), it would be shocking. They're public figures. It would make more sense for the crooks to stay out of the spotlight, totally change up their game-plan/methods, and come back with a totally new scam. Coming after Trilogy Media would just expose them even more, and as of right now, all Trilogy Media knows about the scammer on the phone is his name (if that isn't fake) and nothing else. It just doesn't make sense to try to come after people who are openly working to expose them.

That is not right. Before you even say something on here that shows your racist self and telling people to go back to their country, why don't you actually think before you talk and maybe you would understand that anyone in the US is also a legal citzen who is actually staying in this country too for not only schooling but also trying to have a better life. I heard these types of "send them back to their country" and the "You don't belong here. Great video. I find it interesting how trilogy media is unintentionally using legitimate interrogation techniques in a legal and voluntary conversation. For example, the use of "good cop bad cop" (which is actually used by law enforcement) and the technique of providing the assurance that if they confess everything will be better and they will be left alone. Art in particular is genuinely doing a great job here, even utilising the plausible justification technique, providing a more favourable reason as to why they are involved by suggesting that this could all just have happened by mistake. These are all actual techniques used by trained law enforcement and trilogy media is executing these interrogation tactics with expert precision with what I assume to be no prior training or research. This just shows the natural talent these guys have for this stuff. Keep it up, protecting our families from scams every day.

Anyone living in California knows the housing struggle is real. Many hardworking people will NEVER be able to own a home because of people making money off housing. Add to that this type of criminal activity in nice neighborhoods disguised as nice immigrant families. Disgusting on so many levels. As a person born in the U.S. that was priced out of the housing market years ago I am beyond livid on so many levels. I have always detested the Airbnb fad because it takes even more housing away from Californians. You guys need to start contacting Airbnb so much criminal activity the company and owners of the rentals need to be held accountable they are just as responsible.

Good shit, the production of this is on the level of a network tv show like To Catch a Predator. Also noticed Art has gotten much better at the interrogation this time. He came in a little (understandably) hot in the last one with the PO boxes, but this time was perfect. You have to find the right balance between aggressive and calm. If you can get them to think divulging information to you is preferable to anyone else (hard to explain but kind of like you are the only one who has a chance of being on their side in the end) while at the same time making them believe that if you don't get the information or are lied to they will be in a world of shit, you will get much more information.

When the call came in and he's speaking Chinese, I felt so embarrassed. Can't believe that they are doing this and when he picked up the phone, he immediately warned the caller, saying "there's someone here, they got me""there's someone here bro". He was calm and I don't believe that he's quitting. From the conversation, I don't believe that he's manipulated cause they know each other. They are bad people doing bad things, they can be anybody speaking any language. individuals are to be judged, not your ethnicity, so don't make this a Chinese thing because they speak Chinese or look Chinese. We got enough profiling and segregation going on, we don't need more pointing fingers instead judge them by their actions.

How do you know that he's lying? my brother was involved in a scam that was a lot like this, and had no idea it was a scam, he thought that he was working for the mailing company, and didn't know it was a scam until he went to the website and the website had been shut down. I of course had my doubts and it turned out that sure as shit it was a scam he thought he was working for a legit business. It operated a lot like this they'd send him packages, and he wasn't told never to open them, however he did once, and it wasn't anything, but random clothing. He was paid through paypal he only got paid maybe once or twice, but they told him he'd get paid more as time went on, but it never got that far, they were caught being a scam by multiple people and probably got scared and bailed.

He also called him brother over the phone. You don't just become a "courier" just like that cause people like your face and you are young and susceptible, it's a whole relatives operation. I feel like your intentions are good, it’s the execution that kinda goes down the drain. If there was a better plan of attack, better personalities/actors that did the confronting or an actual detective that knows how to interrogate without bullying, along with a goal in mind (including back up plans) this would go over so much smoother. What’s the point of contacting the drop off person if you don’t have authorities there to back you up? These could potentially be really dangerous people. Be safe. Ya know, let it play out, fill the box with counterfeit money (monopoly money would be hilarious) bug the box with a mic, listen in on what they’re saying. Follow the dude to drop off points, stuff like that, instead of straight up catching one guy, he’s not gonna tell you the truth, guaranteed. They need to feel safe, not attacked. Same with all the other encounters on previous videos, get more people involved that have better communication skills. You guys can totally film it, but let other people do the talking and convincing. For example, the store owners from the previous video both felt attacked and they immediately saw you as the threat, there’s no coming back from that. Maybe a hidden lav mic to capture audio and camera outside the place through the window or something just for the initial encounter with the store owners to build a strong relationship before cramming criminals in their faces. You need to have a calm, professional appearance and identity tell them exactly who you are with a company name tag/ID card. Also, sorry, but a Russian accent is very intimidating to Americans. You guys can be doing so much more good if you had a better strategy. I’m also a professional filmmaker and story consultant. I’d love to collab!

@@merlin4real They don't have any kind of law enforcement authority, entrapment doesn't apply, that's ridiculous. The 5th? Also ridiculous, again they have no authority and he is not under oath, he doesn't have to say shit to them and he can legally lie his ass off if he wants. They also have no authority to ask for ID, that wasn't a good idea...but it's also not a violation of anyone's rights to ask for it. Also no one can "make" you take off your mask, they asked and he complied...not illegal but again not cool. The hands thing was for their safety, they wanted to see his hands in case he had a weapon tucked away. I would have done the same thing. I'm noticing a trend here. You seem to be under the impression that because he was intimidated that he was being forced to do these things. That's not force. There was no force involved here, he could have easily refused to do all of these things. It's up to every individual to know their rights and know when to refuse requests, saying "oh but your honor they asked me to and I was scared so I did it!" wouldn't exactly hold up in court.
