About Us!
If you had told me a year ago that we were going to sell all of our stuff to start backpacking the world, I would have called you a liar. Decisions like the one we made start with an inflection point. A point where you realize that life can never be the same anymore. After a challenging, and painful year in 2017, we decided we needed to go out and live the life we wanted to live, instead of watching it on someone else’s KZfaq Channel. We had given everything we had, physically and emotionally, for other’s dreams and were ready to work that hard for ourselves. From rock bottom, Chase for Adventure was born.
The Chase Begins
We moved in with our parents, sold everything we own including our cars, and paid off $70,000 worth of debt. We worked 70hrs/week over the last year trying to save up $15,000 to make our dreams come true. Now, we are travel journalists who showcase the beauty in different cultures and inspire others to chase their dreams through our KZfaq Channel and website Chase for Adventure. We want to show others that if they want something bad enough, they’ll figure out how to get it; show people who are struggling that they can make the light at the end of their tunnel. Chase for Adventure is more than just a travel vlog and blog; it’s the chronicles of what it’s like to have a dream and do whatever it takes to attain it.

come on enough with the bullshit already...Suria KLCC was built with every category of people who'd visit it in mind. I am sure you did not give it a fair chance to showcase itself to you. Like the food court with fairly priced food. The departmental stores too have a range of fairly priced goods for sale :).

@@iamami4161 Hi, Joe! Thank you so much for sharing your opinion. We loved the KLCC Suria Mall, but as budget travelers who are still students, this was out of our price range. We're not criticizing the quality of the mall. On the contrary, I think everyone should visit it. It is BEAUTIFUL. The lack of affordability is from a personal standpoint. If you would like for us to get into the nitty gritty, I'm sure I could find a pair of socks in that mall that we could afford, however, that doesn't change that overall, it wouldn't be a mall that we go to for shopping. :) As for food, we didn't check out the food court because as you saw in the video, we went to Pelita instead and LOVED it. :)

Chase for Adventure ah ah student budget...I understand...the flight ticket would have cost you RM9.99 😀 ...right. Anyway, I am just joking, so take it easy and have fun with the rest of your travels. But I have to agree there are things in KLCC which are way out of budget for an average Joe (that's me)😀, meant for those with a lots' of money and nothing much to do in life but shopping.

KLCC and The Pavillion are for the crazy rich asians. We the crazy poor ones go to Berjaya Times Square, Sogo and MidValley. 😂😂😂

it is a very very expensive mall, the luxury goods are more expensive here i think due to tax. BUT i do think they were exaggerating a little for views. I've had a meal at the food court there it was 3 times the price of what you'll pay outside. but then there is uniqlo and ZARA. but then again these guys are digital nomads so they probably are pinching pennies. but then again surely they can afford a bottle of drinking water. but then again =)

@@jdkrasinki2214 I've gotten the bottle of water suggestion a lot. When people say this it's a little critical and disheartening. Normal people don't go to Suria @ KLCC to buy a water bottle. They go there to buy clothes, makeup, etc... H&M, Uniqlo, & Zara for us are still pricey stores, and they are even pricier at KLCC. We're trying to offer information for travelers who are backpackers like us. We are not going to make a video and title it, "Couldn't Afford Anything! Oh Yea, except for a water bottle!". Does that make sense?

ACTUALLY.......all branded are located on ground floor. You will find something to suit everyone when you keep going up to the floors. KLCC is one of the highest class retail malls due to its location and status. There are many giant malls in KL / PJ with much affordable price for all. By the way, international brands such as Zara, H&M, Uniqlo, Sephora etc are much cheaper compare to 1st world countries due to its cheaper rental and currency exchange rate.

Thank you for letting us know about how the floors are organized! I'm sure there is something affordable in that mall in comparison to western prices, but it was definitely all out of our price range. Even the coffee was 20MR :O

You've been looking at all the wrong places. There are shops, one near to the train station exit even, which sells coffee for RM10 - RM15.

@@ChaseforAdventure Just pay RM2 for the authentic "Black / White Coffee" at the local open-air coffee shop. All-time Malaysian favorite. Don't think you can buy any with USD 70 cents in the US.

with our exchange rate of USD1=RM4.1..it is obviously you guys (as american) can afford to buy at least 1 pair of jeans in Suria, maybe in Mark & Spencer. Suria is not an expensive place like Pavilion. even in pavilion you can buy 2-3 branded items. Unless you want to buy a range rover in that mall. Please do not put us in the similar cities like Singapore or Dubai..KL is definitely far more affordable place to shop.

I never said it was as expensive as Dubai, or Singapore! I completely agree that those are far more expensive. Although there is a perception that Americans are wealthy, that is not the case for everybody. The disparity between the wealthy and poor is quite large. We worked really hard to get to where we are and we, personally, could not afford clothes in that particular mall. Thank you for sharing your opinion.

mybraintalks yes im AGREE wit you,,KLCC not expensive like a shopping mall with branded brand compare with ASEAN countries,,like jakarta,,Bangkok,,manila,singapore,BUT you must go during MEGA SALE,,,I mean,,exsample i went to bangkok and jakarta and Manila this cities are more expensive compare with KLCC,, i bought RALPH lAUREN item and Polo spot,,,when i check the same thing in KL i see price more cheapest in malaysia,,im surprise,,,at least you check out of season sale in EURO and USA,,more cheap of course,,,

@@ChaseforAdventure i understand how most of asian always have this perception(and assumption) that all American are rich. Maybe from the TV shows that we watched especially all those stupid reality shows, kardashian shit alike. LOL. but currently, particularly in Malaysia, we knew that NOT all westerners who came to Malaysia, are wealthy. This is due to the increase of budget services (accommodations,transportation and such)requested by western travellers/tourist in Malaysia. Most of the time, premium services in Malaysia are acquired by visitors from Middle East. Im not sure about the figures from other asian countries.

We Malaysian only shop when there's sales. Do you know we have 3 big all year round sales plus 4 big festive sales and all that whatever reason for sales? We always having sales all year round hahaha... but i must tell you, Malaysia sales is not as interesting as US or UK.

Used to go to Suria KLCC quite frequent back then (work related) but I've never bought anything there, period. Price is just ridiculous. Try Pertama complex (across the street from Sogo) for cheaper stuff.

In klcc, there are some outlet like parkson, n isetan which the clothes and stuff still affordable. Always went those outlets for shopping.

Dentistry is cheaper here. Also other medical services too. Pelita serve special white rice. They put some ingredients to make their white rice fragrance. Security is pretty tight with the towers. You can't simply walk into the towers. What, you didn't go up the bridge? You were there but didn't go up. I don't get it.

Pelita is amazing! We ate there almost every day in KL. We couldn't afford going up to the top. It was about $20 US per person which was out of our daily budget. :( But next time we're in KL it will be on our list.

Came across your vlog on my recommendations, you guys remind me of myself and my girl and literally as locals here we go to KLCC and have the same reaction as you guys eventho its prolly our 100th time there since we live relatively near. But watching it from a diff perspective really blows my mind cause literally two months ago i brought my girlfriend here to celebrate her birthday, ended up buying her the makeup she wanted, and i went to the cigar shop and bought a few. T’was fair because it was a special occasion, but other than that! Its too darn expensive to go all the time! Enjoyed the vlog! Hope you guys enjoyed as well ! Love from us locals 🤙🏻

KL offers a very unique experience from many of the mega Asian cities. Especially at downtown, where all the name brands, fancy stuff, and very modern feel. Yet when you walk around the back of those skyscrapers, you are all of a sudden felt like you are back in some 3rd world neighborhood. I miss visiting that place. Thank for providing some nostalgic experience. There is a food street not far from KLCC. Not sure you have tried it yet. It's packed with street stalls and night clubs. I don't remember the name now, it's been over 5 years since I was there. But it's an experience with indian, malay, chinese, and western food all packed in that street.

I just came back from KL (My 7th time) but there is a Wintersale in Every Mall! I dont know What you wana purchase I couldnt buy too much otherwise I have to pay Tax in My EU Country If They catch me. But for Luxury stuff USA or EU is Cheaper. I come for the Food, weather Having massage at Thai Odyssey, chilling with the kids. 😃😃😃

KLCC and Pavillion is for the rich. Average Malaysian still go there but we just walking around mall and KLCC park taking photos. If we want to buy stuff we go to Mid Valley, Berjaya Times Square.

I love watching you guys video.FYI,KLCC or The Twin Towers is one of the most exclusive and premier Shopping Mall in Malaysia.So that's why the price is quite high.There's a lot of Mall or shopping complex in KL that U can visit for example The Mid Town, Mid Valley Mega Mall, Pavilion Bukit Bintang etc

adie dali we were there for such a short period of time, that we didn’t get the chance to :( I had to get dental work done while I was there. We definitely plan on coming back though!

If you guys went there on December (around the days before christmas) every year there will be a huge ACG (Anime, Comic/Cosplay, Games) event called Comic Fiesta at the KLCC event halls. 😊

You guy should try to see the KLCC Skybridge. The view is magnificent. But you need to queue early because the ticket is limited per day.

As an Avid Cigar collector it is hard to see someone appreciating the beauty of cigars but not being able to afford it. When you become a Dad soon, the Cigar is on me bud! And not the $6 one a $60 original Cuban! I might not be able to enjoy it with you but sure can send you one. Cheers!!!

I go there once or twice a week for grocery shopping and whenever I need a bubble tea fix. LOL! The Innisfree store that you went in, I am a VIP member there. This brand is known as road shop brand in Korea; hence the price range is meant to be lower to lower mid range. Also, those eye shadows and blushers, many colors have gone out of stock and they are not going to restock anything. Once there is a complete new range of eye shadows and blushers in Korea, they will replace everything with the new range.

Then next time round, you should visit Etude House. Their packaging is so cute and girly! Feel like buying everything there. It’s also another Korean road shop brand, which price range is supposed to be cheaper than Innisfree in Korea. However, after taxes, profit, franchise royalty and etc, both price range are almost the same here. Haha! Next time round, do visit Sunway Pyramid for Etude house

If KLCC if evpensive for u....try visit Singapore and the Malls there..... we cant even afford the regular burgers.... Try also living in New York....Japan....South Korea.....the price are always triple from KLCC For me shopping in KLCC is way more cheaper than shop in any other malls in big cities all over the world

For me it was at night. First they asked the worker there. N then the guy asked me. But since i couldnt understand him. I ask them directly. N then they ask me is the food nice. If this is somewhat the same scenario For you guys. Then this is funny. Since i stumbled upon this video.

KLCC is the premier upmarket shopping mall in KL. Nothing is cheap there. If tourists from USA like yourself find it expensive shopping at KLCC, what more ordinary Malaysians who earn in RM?

The rental of the shoplots is very expensive.. five figures RM per month, but the food at the small kiosk is affordable..or the groceries at coldstorage is at reasonable price... shopping mall in bukit bintang is quite affordable..

I went there one time and the moment I saw the prices there I was like "nope" and went back home right away. I stayed there for like 15 minutes. Ps: I'm a student btw... so obviously I have no money😂😅

Guys, be sure to check out Jalan Alor at night for the best street food ever! Oh and if you're still not tired of our tropical trees, then you can check out the Eco Park next to KL Tower. FYI, you guys are really beautiful together. Oh, if you've got time, head out to Sunway Pyramid. It's the only Egyptian-like pyramid structure in South East Asia which is really a mall--and a huge one at that.

I can see that but I think For what we got it was amazing. The place had a nice pool, a good gym, and was a 5-10 minute walk from the Patronas Towers. 😁

Cannot afford, do window shopping or dont go into the mall. There are so many other malls in Malaysia you can go but you had to go to the most expensive one. its like saying i am in the rain and i got wet. Duh !!
