If you are still in Bangladesh try Salam's Kitchen (a restaurant)...It's a sister concern of Salam's Catering, one of the most prestigious caterers in Bangladesh. Try their Kacchi Biriyani wedding package. It shouldn't set you back more than $10 for both of you...they have branches at Uttara and Banani incase you are interested.

I absolutely hate this "pay to get inside" culture in our wedding. Such an embarrassing and selfish culture. My uncle who had to marry 3 years ago was literally shamed for not bringing enough cash to get in, the wife's side stole his shoes [which is another disgusting culture] three times to get their revenge. It was a total humiliation, a wedding - supposed happy occasion ruined by the greed and "Culture" of our people. But then again, Thank you for being here Mike and Gigi. You guys are angels among them.

Well I played along a bit , In our culture they "kidnap the bride". Some friends come take her away while the groom isn't looking, then he gets a phone call, "you want her back ... Let's deal" so usually it's either some money or some bottle of something and in return the "robbers" have to do a dare, then the wife is returned and the wedding continues. Different culture, different traditions I guess😅🤔

That orange sweet dish is jorda/jarda. The drink named borhani is a spicy drink made from sour curd and mint leaves. A very healthy drink to have with any heavy oily food.

They hold the door just for fun until the groom agrees to pay the demanded amount (it's just an appreciation amount from the groom for all the hard work the bridesmaids and best man put towards setting up the venue). It's just for fun, yet we take it very seriously because later, we do an after party with that money 😂
