Tbh, he spoke facts. I was supporting Barça, but wouldn't be right to blame the ref. Araujo messed the game up with his decision. Ter Stegen could have saved it, and even if Barcola scored it would've been better than playing with one player less for 60 minutes.

Xavi as a players was such level headed. Not sure why as a coach showing so much hotheadedness? Maybe hes emotionally too connected to the club which explains his emotions.

The one call I disagreed with the ref for was giving that pen to Barca for gundo. Outside of that I thought the ref was very good and made the right calls every time.

He's not trying to hide the fact that Araujo destroyed Barca this evening, he's taking it like a man, always speaking the truth. A great player and person. It's normal that amazing players like Araujo make this kind of mistakes because he's still young and doesn't have UCL experience like Gundogan. Every great player made big mistakes and the team had to suffer. Now it depends on how Araujo and the rest of the team will take this. Even when he’s questioning the ref, he can still consider the possibility that he might be biased, but everyone else, Xavi especially, just drones on about how everyone is out to get them, the refs, the grass, the press. Class act Gundogan, should’ve stayed at City to be honest - then prob Madrid would be out right now.

He's 100% right, of course - Araujo's momentary lapse of rational thinking essentially cause the team to implode and removed every chance of continuing. However, perhaps it's not something to air out publicly and to keep it within the locker room.

Such a frustrating match. Barca struggled at first and then got in front. The match looked like it was going according to plan than comes Araujos absolute blunder. It wasn't even the best angle to shoot and for me the possibility of it being a goal would be 35 percent. It wasn't Mbappe taking the shot but Barcola who isn't the most clinical and Ter Stegen is a good 1 on 1 keeper and the angle isn't optimal. But I didn't see many people talk about what happened after this. The 2nd goal was a good shot but how can Barca let a guy take a shot freely almost at the 16 m line? The third goal was the most stupid I have ever seen. There is no danger at all and Cancelo has to go foot first into a challenge. He did something similar in the first game (which furtunatelly was offside). How can anyone be so stupid to do this in a match with 10 players when being almost at the touch line? This is beyond comprehensible. There is a lot of talent with this squada but these guys aren't winners and when it gets hard they are a very nervous bunch. The exceptions are Gündogan, Ter Stegen, Raphina and Lewandowski (the youngsters like Pedri hopefully develope into it)
