Halloween 2023 is one month away, and we’re so excited! We’re doing a TON of Halloween Animatronic makeovers and DIY Halloween decorations this season. In this video, we’re challenging ourselves to do a complete Halloween animatronic makeover using only Dollar Store materials.
The first step to our Dollar Store challenge was a trip to the Dollar Tree. Armed with our supplies, we went back to the shop to make a plan. Home Depot’s Lethal Lily is a really cool animatronic because it has a lot of motion in the face and head, so we were really happy to add this Home Depot animatronic to our collection.
We ended up painting her face, adding to her costume and staff, and we even added a cool smoke effect to her basket.
We love how our upgraded Lethal Lily animatronic turned out. Let us know in the comments what you think!

Dollar tree does orange, purple and white for Halloween, and then red, green and white for Christmas.

Thank you for giving people hope. It can be so disheartening for people when they want to create along with someone, only to find out they need a 3D printer or an airbrush. It's great you're showing us what's possible, and how to make it happen.

Of course! Though both a 3D printer and an airbrush can be cheaper than a lot of these dang animatronics these days but loved showing you can still do good work on a small budget!

@@WickedMakers Agreed, I got my Ender 3 for $189, I've had it for a good 2 or 3 years now, and it still prints as good as the day I first got it! Absolutely love what I can do with it, and I love seeing you use 3D printed parts as well, especially the joints in the Huggy Wuggy animatronic!

Yeah, that’s always something that bums me out when it comes to certain flipping/upcycling/etc channels - the second they step out to their huge wood shop with table saws and laser cutters and yadayadayada they lose me 😕

When I was little, I used to see props at spirit Halloween that looked like zombified babies. It would be interesting to see them get a complete rework.

I was a assistant manager for spirit and one day I was walking through the store putting stuff back on shelves and a customer had placed the zombie babies in a way that made it look like a baby zombie orgy

Whenever I cook chicken parts for dinner (especially drumsticks and thighs) I clean off the bones and let them dry out. So I have a collection of REAL bones I can use for trims, necklaces, etc. And I’d swap out the flower on her hat with a nice, big, hairy tarantula. Great work, guys!

I didn't know that mixing acrylic paint and liquid latex would actually work for painting latex. I'll definitely have to try it on some masks this year. Also the toad's name is Chubo Kuay.

Her animations are surprisingly complex, it kind of has a 90s chuck e cheese vibe which is what gave me a lifelong phobia of animatronics. So this is a good direction for Halloween decor. If I was in the same room as her I'd cry.

What a great build, huge improvement from the retail version! That head animatronic looks like it has some real potential to be reused in another head or skull! I wonder if it could reprogrammed to do other talking. The combination of eye movement, blinking and talking is great!

I think the best part about this channel is the fact that you and your wife enjoy doing this together and you can actually see that you love each other and you love doing things together! To many couples take things for granted now days and don't spend quality time with the ones they love and don't do things together like yall do, thanks for actually showing everyone that there are still couples who love spending time with their partner and enjoy doing things together and keep up the great videos love you guys

That hundred year old swamp witch has quite the pearly whites! get them yellow and gringey, maybe black out a few! A bit of moss and leaves in her hair would be a great extra touch, and FREE!! Great work as usual!!!

Frogs have smooth skin, toads have bumpy skin. I would have liked to see the mist come out of the bottle in the basket.......like a potion bubbling in the bottle. I love witches, I don't think they get enough movies made about them. And this one is fabulous!

I love that you took a (relatively) inexpensive animatronic and easily accessible and inexpensive stuff to elevate the appearance! Just look what you can achieve with a hammer and a brick! She looks much more believable as a swamp witch after you got through with her!

Lethal Lily is probably my favorite prop this year. I love the makeover. I like that you showed that it doesn't have to be expensive to makeover a prop. I liked everything you did in regard to painting and giving her a different posture. Keep bringing the ideas!

I got Lily this year, and have been doing a bit of a makeover on her too. Painting her nails, adding stuff to her basket, etc… great minds think alike! She was really cool as-is, but there were definitely those few elements that needed just a “little something extra”!

A good rule of thumb to figure out if something is a frog or toad, is how lumpy they are!! The lumpier, it’s most likely a toad. More smooth, most likely a frog! Toads are also quite a bit bigger than frogs. So the witch would be holding a toad in her basket! Though…. I don’t think it’s supposed to be scientifically correct.. i don’t think toads can even grow that big! She probably cast a spell on it to make it so large!

I saw that witch at home depot and was taken aback by the face sculpt and animation! I thought "Wouldnt it be cool if they did something with one?" but then I figured that since you've already done a witch, and that it was already so great to begin with that you wouldn't do it!

The facial animation on that prop is unusually good, especially the eyes. That said, I and many others don't have access to a 3D printer or metalworking, so I always appreciate the more accessible content.

For things like the bone necklace, it might be worth getring a set of doll needles. They're super long. That way, you could thread the twine through the bones.
