Idk why I got so emotional watching your video. I’ve done the Disney World full marathon twice, where one of the times was the Dopey Challenge - and all the feelings just came rushing back in. The feeling of envy that I wish I was there, the feeling of happiness because the runDisney community is so supportive, the feeling of magic as you run through all the Disney parks & the feeling of accomplishment as you cross the finish line. Congratulations! This was fun to watch!

That’s awesome, guys !! I love the Disney marathon and have run it a few times as part of the Goofy Challenge. It’s actually where my marathon PR sits - such a great course too! Nice work, you guys 😎
@chrisandsara4 жыл бұрын
Oh man, the goofy challenge is another level of crazy! Hats of to you! 😅definitely a super fun course. Where else on earth do you get entertainment every mile of a race?
@ctrawick34 жыл бұрын
Let's Be Us So true. It is tough though, if you get stuck in one of the corrals in the back. So many folks that are a bit too... shall we say “leisurely” in their approach to pacing. I coach runners pretty regularly, and I always ALWAYS emphasize the need to provide a race finish time to Disney, even if it’s a 10k. It’s well worth the effort to hammer out a shorter race in the months leading up to Marathon Weekend, just to be able to leap frog into a higher corral placement. It’s just so much easier if you start in Corral D or higher. Either way though, you guys clearly had a great race and a fun time doing it together, which is really what Disney races are supposed to be about.

Congratulations you two! Looks fun, and exhausting! I hope you had a lot of ice cream after that run in the heat , you deserve it! I've dealt with the fogging on my glasses as well Chris - and even sports glasses will fog on me. Nothing seems to work except a shirt sleeve!

Awesome accomplishment for a great cause. I sorta know how you guys feel, when you get packed into narrow running\walking zones, happens a lot when we were able to bring our kids along for the San Francisco Aid's Walk; only a 6k but the kids (now 23 and 32) rode up on my shoulders, and to this day they care and volunteer. Me I provide Phresis donations for the kids at the local Children's Hospital of Oakland, as I'm a "Quad" donor, so I don't have certain antibodies, and I can give to a lot more people. 7+ gallons of platelets. Thanks for sharing the video, working towards the goal, to literally give your blood, sweat, and, tears to others. If we all work together, we can accomplish amazing things. Congratulations!!!

What a great recap! Very enjoyable to watch! Congrats on your first marathon! Weather was brutal wasn't it... I totally missed Donald and Daisy at Dinoland! :o I agree on it being crowded, it seems like you had it worse starting from H (it's well worth putting in a POT! We started in D and the crowds got worse after Blizzard Beach, most people were walking including us, we just didn't have much energy in our legs left) What will your next runDisney race be? :D

Just a question as someone elergic to bees, did you notice any bees along the race route other than at trash cans?

Hey Adam! I can’t recall any bees along the route actually. The race starts early in the morning (5:00am i think) so maybe that helped with it.
