Dear Si & Friends, I suffer from chronic pain and often I can’t sleep at night. When I can’t,I turn to you, Nicola & the Northern Mudlarks to see me through the worst. I love watching your videos, I spent 5 yrs in London, partly doing my post graduate studies many years ago in History, so you can imagine how much I love some of your discoveries and their provenance. I’m also a bit of a maker and crafter, so the upcycling is right up my alley. Thank you for all the time you take to make such fun videos. Know they are much appreciated.🌟🌟😊🌟🌟

For the same reasons, i watch si doing his mudlarking, i love to watch you dig the things up and bring them back to life, you have a real talent for that . I also find your vids very calming and relaxing , though the vid with you on the beach starkers ! was very entertaining . lol I went to bed chuckling ! Keep it up . xx

Simon, About sewage, here's my story. We had a septic (sewage) tank on our farm. Every so often a service would come out, remove the concrete lid and pump it out. It fascinated me as a child, I couldn't wait to see them do their thing. So after watching for a bit in the morning I left. I came back around noon and this fellow had a long rod and was poking and stirring the sludge. "What are you doing?", I asked. He said, "I dropped my coat in there and am trying to retrieve it". "Surely you can't wear it after that?" I asked. "No", he said, "But my lunch is in the pocket" Not quite your treasures, eh:) Cheers, Rik Spector

bahahaaa .. good one! We are on a septic and a drilled well too. Hubby is a farm boy and doesn't believe in pumping them out, he says .. if they are working properly, you don't need to. I hate to think what's in the bottom of that thing .. shudder

@@SundaysChild1966 today they have leaching fields along with the tank, but in my day, the forties and fifties it was just the one. Most of that was true except about the coat. I think your "gold ingot" looks like the back of a silver clothes brush. My dad used to have a set in a leather case: it had hair brushes, clothes brushes, a little container for cologne, etc. The clothes brushes were the same size and shape as the "ingot" you found (obviously the main body of the brush was wood, with the bristles inserted into it, and the silver part was just a shell or cap - like the one you found - that covered the brush-back). [Edit; by the way, I think the "horse" on the cap-badge is actually a lamb.]

Hi, Si, Robert from Pensacola here. Your floral broach is Art nouveau . Art Nouveau generally involves sweeping curves and a general nature theme - flowers, birds, etc. The distinguishing features of Art Deco are simple, clean shapes, often with a “streamlined” look; ornament that is geometric or stylized from representational forms. Art nouveau was primarily from 1890 to around 1910, but was still there in the 20s.It was old hat by the 30s and was about gone in jewelry. Love you, and have a little crush on Nicola LOL

Too late for me to enter!!😆 Wendy did a beautiful job with the brooch. It’s a design that I love to collect on vintage compacts, brushes, mirrors, lipsticks, and I think I have a few either pendants or brooches that are vintage that is designed like it as well. I gifted to my sister a beautiful small compact and it had this other basket design and I just love that design as well. Because she carries a small purse it was just the right size compact for her to have. Very interesting fines today because I love when you find different vintage make up pieces. If anything I would mudlark for, it would be old compacts, lipsticks, and things I love that I collect. I just find them beautiful!! Great video!!🌊

Morning, So and Moss! Love the competition between you two! So fun! Why was this London river/crick a sewer? Did Londoners in the past just throw all their garbage in here? At least the water looks nice and clean now. ( ; I love your friend Wendy's marble pendants! Soooo beautiful and creative! ( : Cool find on the buttons and tea strainers! Nice pipe, Moss! ( : Would've been cool if you found a large bar of gold! That would've been amazing? Still awesome! The flower bouquet brooch is beautiful,! ( : I love the pot with wire handle! ( : Love the whole tea strainer you found Si! Soooo beautiful! ( : Ohhhhhh...good one. si, a whole tea strainer! Wow! Miss found a ring too?! Fantastic! ( : Gorgeous marbles you are finding and brooches! ( : Wow. Moss what a gorgeous l large cat brooch in amazing condition! I think that's the star find for Moss! ( : What an amazing haul for you both and round up! So excited you are doing a craft/art at the end, Si! I love seeing your finds transformations! They are always gorgeous! ( : Wow! That basket of flowers brooch came out amazing after your ministrations to it! ( : Wendy made us I Even better and wearable again! ( : Sooo cool! ( : Thank you for another awesome video!
