We finally escaped Europe! (Inside Ankara, Turkey)

2 жыл бұрынWe made it to Ankara, the capital of Turkey (Türkiye)! And we crossed from Europe into Asia, a massive milestone on this overland journey to Almaty! After traveling for almost 1,000 kilometres from Plovdiv, Bulgaria, through Turkey's largest city, Istanbul, we arrived in Ankara. We set out to explore Ankara, a city which for some reason is still relatively unvisited by most tourists. Unfortunately the long overnight journey to Turkey took its toll and Matt started to fall ill, but, determined to see as much of Ankara as possible & share it with, we pushed on through and headed towards anıtkabir, the mausoleum of Turkey's first president and revered reformer, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. Turkey was actually much more modern before the refugees arrived. The veiled women you see in the movies, they are all Arab refugees, and their number is 20 million. Turks are not at all happy about this

Harriet and I have been to Ankara and Istanbul. We had a very enjoyable time in both cities. It seems like Istanbul is a city that never sleeps. Great Food and interesting history. Thank you for presenting Turkey as objective . I can advise you to visit Ankara castle next time . There are old Turkish houses , the castle and also you can see the city from the top .

@@MattandJulia I began in Madrid visiting my brother and his family and then I went to Amsterdam, Brussels, Paris, Venice, Ljubljana (that was as hot as when you visit it time ago), Salzburg, Vienna (where we could have crossed paths without realizing it ), Prague, Wroclaw, Kracov, Warsaw, Barcelona and Valencia. Now to think about next year's trip...Turkey seems like a good destination, I've never been there...

@@MattandJulia the sections Madrid-Amsterdam, Paris-Venice and Warsaw-Barcelona by plane, the rest of the trips by train and buses (mostly by Flixbus ....thanks god they arrive on time..... I was lucky, I used Easyjet and Ryanair that in those days had problems with its crew but the days that I had to travel there were no strikes...

The Ataturk mausoleum is a complex artefact relevant to the recent history, but the Ankara museum is outstanding due to the immense importance of Anatolia in the ancient world.

While you are in Ankara, visit cafes and restaurants in 7th Street Bahcelievler; Tunalihilmi Street; Kizilay Ataturk Street; Bilkent district; Yasamkent District; Eryaman Optimum Outlet district. But even Central Bank of Turkiye has been leaving to Istanbul with 100s of personnel these days.

Hi Julia and Matt your friend George Miller. I always have been interested about Julia family where she very seldom talks about a mom or dad but I know she loves her granny. For many years I was a missionary in the real countries from Sudan working in the Ukraine and so many other places humanitarian work. I know with travel Over the years definitely can take a toll on you sometimes emotionally make sure you take care of yourselves you guys are special people who have big hearts I really think you could make a big difference maybe work on word refugees in Poland it is so rewarding but also physically could be tough take care of yourselves love you guys I'll look for your next video your friend George

BE sure you are keeping up on Vitamin C Injections or IV (would make good content also) and Oral Vitamin D 50k IU. All that travel will wreck havoc on your body.

@@MattandJulia Yeah you wont know unless you research this area of medicine. And its not expensive at all. Plus it makes great content. But IV or Injection Vitamin C and Glutathione is very important for all your trips to stay healthy. And if your not on testosterone already, get ur levels checked and if your not above 10ngdl free test get on it. Will help you a ton to keep moving and enjoying life.
