Hey...I hope somebody already told you, but just in case they didn't or it got deleted...Chernobyl was the non-nuclear explosion of a nuclear power reactor in Ukraine back when it was still part of the USSR in 1986. It was the biggest radiological disaster in history, and there is actually a terrific short series about Chernobyl that was made by HBO a few years ago...you folks should absolutely react to it.✌

@@TRlANGLZ TF3 is still my favorite movie in the series, but bay heavily fumbled the ball with it. The novelization got leaked before the films release, so Bay rewrote a lot of things and cut out even more, this being one of them. Barricade was to actually return with a role, but got turned into a rank-and-file goon (Wheeljacks death).

He was Michael Bay's father in law I think.

Revenge of the Fallen turned out the way it did because it was made during the writers strike in Hollywood. Taking that into account I think they did a pretty good job of salvaging what they could and putting out a decent movie, but yeah it definitely fell short of this one.

I remember the hype that erupted on the internet when they revealed him in the movie back in 2011, sucks that he was kind of a waste but his design was amazing!

He’s also believed to be one of the few Decepticon’s to be more dangerous than Megatron, not just because he’s smarter, but because he’s apparently in some iterations of the character just as physically powerful as well, to the point where Optimus would see him as the biggest threat even if it was between Megatron and Shockwave. So yeah, he was heavily done dirty, but I still enjoyed the parts we got from him, but would’ve loved to see more, like him taking on the entire Autobot cast outside of Optimus, or him and Prime having an epic 1-on-1 fight or something like that. Would’ve been awesome

Wasted? I'd say the guy with his driller bot was probably the most dangerous in this movie. Hell dont forget he took optimus out of the fight for a good 20 mins.

There's even simpler explanation. That "watch" on Sam's hand is Decepticon. Which means it has Energon inside of it. Optimus is transformer too. No wonder he could feel Decepticon's Spark on Sam's hand.

The fact Wheelie foreshadows the betrayal tho in the beginning. "Oh I've seen this one. This is the one where Spock goes nuts." Nimoy has played two top tier TF villains on film and it's awesome. Galvatron in the 80s and Sentinel Prime in the Bayformers

I'm studying filmmaking and at an editing class our teacher showed us some teaser trailers. He put the Transformers (2007) teaser trailer and basically destroyed it. Then saying that the movies were basically pieces of shit and everyone else in the classroom was like: yeah, Michael Bay is a clown. I was the only one saying from behind the desk that Michael Bay was really good. I mean, come on. Not many people can orchestrate action sequences like him. The way he moves the camera to convey certain emotions. How every cut flows with a rhythm to the next shot. The intention behind each one. Surely, that has a lot to do with editing. And he knows how to pick editors. They do their best with the material he shoots. His movies may not be great because of screenwriting aspects. But visually he is one and only among many other directors. He has a strong vision. You can tell when a movie was directed by him. Something not many directors have. He knows how to direct. That's why I consider him an inspiration. He's not a writer, so give him a well written action movie screenplay and he's going to make a masterpiece.

All due respect to your teacher, but I find it kind of weird that Michael Bay was the example they used. You're really gonna tell your class "Did you know that Michael Bay's movies are NOT GOOD?" As if explaining such a cold take is even remotely educational? Throw a rock and you'll hit 60 Michael Bay criticizers. They could've found something more interesting to dissect. Buuut I'm talking out my butt here I guess, because that is *not* my field of study. Anyway, totally agree with everything you said. The first Transformers movie has actually overall positive reviews for a reason, and that's because while everything else may be lackluster, the elements Bay has an expert hand in blew things out of the water. Being so fixated on hating his screenwriting that you're unable to appreciate that is... A tad childish, imo.

Absolutely love this take. At the end of the day, it's just a movie about giant alien robots, in a franchise about giant alien robots. If you come into a movie like this expecting some Stanely Kubrick levels of artistry and deep and complex themes, might wanna pick something else. Not every movie has to be an avant garde masterpiece. Sometimes it's okay to just turn your brain off and watch cool looking robots smack each other around because that shits cool. Its okay for movies to just be on the nose entertainment. I for one love these movies because I'm a very simple person, super easy to entertain. I just wanna see cool stuff. That's all.

You could literally take the top 10 film-making 'teachers' and try and get them to make a movie and it will be a complete pile of shite, totally derivative, without one ounce of creativity. The script written for Sam’s new girlfriend is literally Megan fox’s. there was a writers strike at the time and bay barely changed it. Shes got a big position in a car company and they marry in the end. It’s supposed to be mikaela coming to the end of her arc for the trilogy
