I think that what you referred to "door knocker" is some stationary or leather tool (for punching/staple papers or leather or whatever). I suggest you use specific electrolysis for iron/steel setup to clean your findings. I also would like to kindly suggest you make to us a video of your findings after you restored them. I have 10 grandkids, from ages 4 to 19, and was trying to get a good picture of them all, but getting TEN children to all look at the camera and smile at the same time proved very difficult!! As a proper lady ,👸 I would NEVER fart in front of someone, but this day, I felt a massive disturbance and just let her rip!!💨💥🤣🤣🤭 BEST PICTURE EVER I SWEAR 🤣😍😍😁

I am thinking the "door knocker" could also be for scraping off shoes. For example the bottom was fastened to a cement block and people back in the day would scrape off their shoes on it before entering a house. Just a guess, but def looks to be a door knocker. LOL! yes I heard it. Poor Joopie lolol. I can't stop laughing. Awesome finds and that gun. Did the police claim it? Can't wait to see the next one. :)

I think that thing you thought was a door knocker, is actually a stapler or something like that. Maybe a punch, to put holes through something. I'm going to guess its from about the 1940's or 50's, judging from the shape and size.
