After fitting our new Rogue Alloy wheels and doing the leaf springs on the crafter we needed to fit a side step so we could get into the van with ease

Love the wheels and the step. Have you seen the tyre pressure monitoring valves that work off wi fi . shows the pressure on youre phone . Quite handy when youre swinging round bends at 106 mph 😆😆😆😆 seriously though . could save you an expensive tyre

Thanks David . Even tho this was a bit of a sketchy way of doing it . You can only work with what you have . I was going to get some flat plate and weld up a full mounting bracket but then though . It needs to be done in a way that 90% of other people could do them selves . So along came FRANKENSTEP

Just put the Grabber AT2s on a defender. think they are a grade B wet Weather braking. Previous tyres were a Grade D, the new ones may have already paid for themselves. would recommend the brand so far.

Those sliding brackets are variable height, so im confused why you needed the extra brackets. Plus you have a welder which would have made fitting a decent mount to bolt them to quite easy.

Sliding brackets are variable hight but they don’t go to the hight that was needed for the vehicle. Plus I could’ve welded a bracket up but the whole idea behind the video was to do something that all those could follow along with not everybody has a welder but evey one could do this

I said that before seeing the underside, but still think making a bracket would be easier, with you bolting the bracket onto the van after. Welding near that tank would be dodgy...

As long as they make a full trough pass of the spring threaded retainers mate then it really dose not matter . Just make sure u bolt right trough

Once fitted and in use, after you climb in the van… how do you retract the step from inside…? Also fitted inline with front wheel, they gather a lot of road dirt and crap ….. use of a pressure washer to blast it out … 🙂

They probably would but after talking to the guy from boris the crafter they fitted there’s over a year ago with techs and it’s still going strong . Plus I also thought thst doing it that way is something 99% of ppl could easily do

Nice wheels and tyres! I got my bird to ask about bf Goodrich tyre sizes about a year ago on fb self build group and you ended up debating with someone else about do you "need" all terrain tyres... I knew you would change your mind😜 ps I speak to my bird like that... Shut up or I'll smash your face in ina minute! With love of course. I wonder if it's a Merseyside thing...( From Birkenhead).. Oh mate we say that to each other all the time . It’s Defoe a northern or scouse thing and it’s not in a disrespectful way at all . Hmmmm do you need AT tyres Iv allways Said no and I’ll still say no to be honest . But we have got stuck a few times but mainly cos we didn’t stick to places that a normal road tyre should be so TOTALY our fault . That was the reason we got them to save getting stuck . Will we still get stuck lol probably

It's a 17 inch rim, and the tyre size is ... 2257517 which equates to big ass!!!

Was a bit of work, but it does look nice and I'm glad she can now get in the van LOL. Serious question, though. Did you upgrade the wheels for more clearance? If so, doesn't adding that step kind of take away from that? Aaaahahaha I saw the nonchalant flip off!! You guys are awesome.

He’s cheeky that’s what he is!!! 🤣🤣 In all honestly we upgraded the wheels to upgrade the gross weight of the van not for clearance really, that and we think they look cool 😂😂😂 but once we added the wheels we had to add the step as it was hard on the knees getting in and out the van, short girl probs!!! 🤣🤣🤣

Hi Dawn, I’m sorry if you felt that there was more to this than our humour, however there is nothing unto-wards going on whatsoever ! Neil would of thrown the instructions away no matter who had hold of them, me, him a male or female he just doesn’t do instructions and as for use of the term misogyny I need to state that my partner although I do not need to defend him in anyway as he knows who he is and more than capable to speak for himself, is far from misogynistic! He has always supported me and many other female family and friends when we have been told we can’t do something as it’s a ‘man’s job’ he doesn’t believe in such things and has always been the first to champion mine and many other females successes!
