"A Frames" is a simple beautiful design common to the rainy forests of the West Coast of America (California, Washington State, Oregon etc). Its simple sturdy build- usually of wood timbers, means that the rains quickly run down & off the steeply sided roofs and when heavy snow falls- as it does in N Calif etc in the hills, in the long winter, the snow can't build up on the roof but easily slides off The only downside is that the upper floor is very much reduced in Sq Metres
