It's both. It extends from the barrel and is by definition not a real suppressor and slightly resembles one. To by hyper technical it's a barrel ATTACHMENT and handgrip.

@@kyngpapi the full auto shoots from the open bolt position. The sem- auto shoots from the closed bolt.

Yes, the semi version has the buffer. And can batter the rear of the receiver. I even had to weld the rear back onto this one: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ntePqbBkppq4Xac.html

It was pretty accurate, even with me shooting it.

I don't know what the threads are on thins barrel, but they're very big and a very coarse thread. Even my 30 cal suppressor was too small to fit. The gun store said couldn't get an adapter for it, otherwise that was my original intention.

It’s 3/4”-10 And look on gun broker. They have them for sale there. And VMAC I think has em and they make them for tec 9’s too so some times looking up tec adaptors will give you the results to find the proper one.

There is some on GB right now. It sez Mac 11 thread adapter.223. But read it. It’s 3/4-10 to 1/2-28 for 9mm/.22./223. The bore size will support 9mm It’s 45$. I had to get one.

No, this is definitely a 9mm. I know that cuz that's the bullets I put in it. And as you can see, they cycle and fire fine. 380 wouldn't.

Yes, it's a 9mm. I'm not sure what the "s" stands for. My receiver just says M-11.

@@SmoknJaysGarage From what I can tell, it's the semi-auto version of the first M-11 that was 9mm. The model is an SM-11/NINE.

I looked on gun broker the other day and say prices range from $800-20k. (Full auto on the high end?) Although $1-2k seemed to be the most common.

I seen a used one at a pawn shop today. Going for a $1K. Had 3 mags & a shoulder holster but no barrel extension.

I have a full auto Mac10 they go for 10k. The Mac11 go for at least 12k as of December 2022.

@@topofit. 9mm. The .380 can go for just as much depending on a few factors. But with the lage 556 upper there all climbing fast.

Legally, you'll need a pre-ban receiver and fill out the proper paperwork. Physically, I'm not sure....the semi auto fires from the closed bolt position, and the full auto fires from the open bolt position. You would need all new internals I think.

@@haitianese2298 you may just need a sear or disconnect then. I haven't run across a semi auto one that fires from the open bolt. If you have a class lll dealer near you, they can probably get you what you need and help out with the paperwork.

Pre-ban means it was manufactured prior to 1986. This isn't necessarily just a look alike. Cobray owns the rights to, and manufacturered all of the MAC 10, MAC 11 machine guns. After 1986, a lot of guns were converted to semi auto. Only the pre 1986 can be owned as full auto or converted back to full auto. (With the proper paperwork of course)

Alright, that makes more sense. There was some hint suggesting (former) full autos were given lobotomies. Another "pre-ban" I ran into was the occasional rifle made by a company with a certain part deemed "illegal" and manufacturing stopped and a redesigned model was on the way, usually longer barrel or anything the ATF suddenly decided it didn't like at the time. It's actually nomenclature is barrel extension, not barrel shroud. A barrel shroud would go over the top of the barrel.

No, nothing like a tec9. Not even close. I own both. Tec9s had a polymer frame and literally everything is different from this "cobray" M11 style (all steel) gun. Tec9s don't have the magazine go in the handgrip either. Just totally different. And how do you even "market to inner cities?" That sounds like media nonsense. That's utter nonsense. Both tec9s and M11s were sold throughout the country. And who knows what you think your uncle "converted." These guns are NOT "easily" so called "converted" (whatever that even means). If you mean converted to full auto, not they're not "easily" converted. Not even close. A currently made glock and many other handguns can accept a 30 round magazine as well.

I have 1 and I was talking to a guy not to long ago and somehow anyways we got to talking about this particular gun and he told me he had everything needed to convert the gin into a full auto and could do it in just a few minutes. Now I don't know if he was telling the truth or not because I know absolutely nothing about how to convert a semi-auto into a full-auto and I don't want 1 anyways cause they throw you in jail for crap like that but anyways I think that's what this person was talking about when they said "converted".

That's always been a mag-related issue with these guns. Mine is Sten-config and I've always run good surplus sten mags through it. Never once, ONCE had a failure of any kind, in probably tens of thousands of rounds. Idk about you, but very few of my other guns can say the same.

Mine never jams at all. I never have any issues

I have fired very few mac-11s in my life, but they were all 9mm except 1, which had been converted to 22lr

M11 cobray is a 9mm

The m11 was a 380 open bolt the m11-9 was bigger 9 mm. The original m11 was the same size as the m12. The gun he has here is not pre ban depending on what ban he is referring to as it has the sling loop on the back preventing the bolt on stocks

The m11-9 was built by swd or Leinad or Daniel spelled backward as in Silvia Wayne Daniel (swd) the first 2 numbers in the serial # was the year of manufacture there were some copy cats. Like velocity and masterpiece

@maaz322 anything is possible I suppose...but I think it is highly unlikely. I specifically said this firearm was uncomfortable to shoot, especially followup rounds. Making it not a great choice to do a lot of shooting. Also, if my information is correct, the LA gunman had a MAC 10 not a Cobray 11. (Although they are very similar)
