We took an impromptu trip to Lucerne, Switzerland to see the iconic Chapel Bridge, the Town Hall Clock Tower, and, of course, sample some of the local cuisine! We tried Swiss fondue, some of the local ice cream and Nate may have even made friends with a swan…
Lucerne is located in the middle of Switzerland and is a great hub to use as your home base for day trips to neighboring cities. We could have spent multiple days here but settled for just a quick visit before moving on to our next city later that night.

The "kiosk" is from a company Bakery/Pastry company called Bachmann (they have a lot of stores), their products are usually high quality.

Hello from Basel (Switzerland), the types of cheese for the fondue are not specified in principle, there are many regional recipes (some families might even prepare it according to "grandma's" recipe). It goes without saying that only (real) Swiss cheese is used for this. My favorite fondue is Motié/Motié (half Freiburger Vacherin, half Gruyere), which results in a creamy consistency and the somewhat recent cheese taste (heaven on earth for me), together with boiled small potatoes with or instead of bread. Our water, Switzerland is also called "Europe's water tower" because we supply a significant part of Europe with our water (e.g. the Rhine river). The drinking water is really very fresh, very good and the drinking water in the mountains doesn't have to shy away from comparison with mineral water from a bottle in the slightest. In addition to everything, you can get drinking water of excellent quality and taste from the wells for free (for a day trip, walk or whatever).
