As a Kiwi I'm so glad you guys had an awesome time at Milford SoundsI went down to the sounds (Piopiotahi) Maori for Milford Sound a few years ago and I see nothing much has changed, I hope they( the cruise line) told you about the "Taniwha" that lived beneath those waterfalls??....Taniwha is a mythological Water beast that protects the waters for those who didn't know. Sad you guys have only a few weeks here because there is so much more beauty and amazing people to meet. cant wait to see where you head to next

The drive out to Milford Sound is just beautiful and the sound itself is amazing. We were there in September 2017 and the day we did our cruise was pouring down with rain so it was hard to see the views as it was so misty. It still looked amazing for us though because all the cliffs on the drive and in the sound turned into hundreds of waterfalls so it was just gorgeous. I think at the end of that day I was nearly as wet as Allison was at the end of your kayaking tour though :) Congrats on reaching 200,000 subs!

Hi Eric and Allison! You should visit Two Paddocks vineyard near Queenstown in Central Otago. They produce one of the best Pinot Noir in the world. And since it's summer, you might as well experience the grape harvest. It is also owned by actor Sam Neill in the Jurassic Park series, and you may bump into him when you visit.

Great video guys, makes me want to move back down south and take up working again in Fiordland. What is though and Americans wearing denim at completely the wrong times. Milford has an annual rainfall of 7-8 metres a year. NZ weather is highly changeable, even at the height of summer a storm can blow up and it's pouring with rain in half an hour. If you are going to be spending anytime in nature in New Zealand, you need to wear gear which will kept you warm and dry in the wet. As we say in NZ, when in outdoors - cotton is rotten. When wet it will just get very heavy and more importantly will provide virtually no heat insulation just at the time you need. Allison's kayak trip could very easily been very uncomfortable or worse if it had rained or even if she rolled the kayak. In fact i'm surprised the guide didn't make her change into something more appropriate, as it something I would have done. Essential item for trip to NZ if you are going to anything outside (even something only for a few hours) is good waterproof jacket, an extra warmth layer which repels water, and pants which are either water proof or at least quick drying. Good appropriate footwear is also a great idea. Far to often I have come across tourists struggling along a trail in completely dumb footwear for the conditions.
