In this video, Walker & I find the motherload of bluegill beds. We are bluegill fishing in Texas on a lake we have never been on before. We use our side scan on our fish finder to find bluegill beds. These beds wont be a single hole or crater, but rather a "honeycomb" of beds and you should be able to actually see the bluegill inside of the beds. Usually the deeper the beds, the bigger the bluegill, but not always the case. We are using a simple bluegill fishing setup with a cricket and a bobber. I also give you some bluegill fishing tips that you can take out with you on your next outing. We caught some giant bluegill in this video, and plenty of them! I hope yall enjoyed this video! This is awesome. My 12 year old and I have been bluegill fishing a lot the last few weeks. He cooks them all. The bluegill bodies look like the old Garfield cartoon when Garfield eats a fish. So fun to watch a kid get so excited over fishing and cooking his own dinner.

your fortunate to have blue gill like that left in your state. i live in south dakota and most of ours are all caught out do to over harvest. we need a size limit put on them but in the wisdom of our game commision and worthless biologists it just doesnt seem to happen.
