We recently moved to Cabrera, Dominican Republic after moving from San Pedro Sula, Honduras. However, after being in our house for less than a month on the North Coast we had to find a new rental property (we ended up in the house of horrors!) Our budget was SUPER tight and we were looking for something around 15,000 pesos (about 250 dollars). We ended having to increase our budget to 25,000 domincan pesos (or less than 500 dollars). Come with us as we explore houses on the beautiful North Coast of Dominican Republic!

ABOUT US & OUR CHANNEL
We are a expats and a typical black American family living and teaching abroad in Cabrera, Dominican Republic. We were born and raised in California but spent most of our adult life in Atlanta, GA where we met at Spelman and Morehouse College.
About a year ago we left our jobs teaching in the United States for a life abroad in Honduras before relocating to Domincan Republic. Our channel has 2 goals:
1. To show black families and people of color what a life abroad could look like.
2. To show all the beautiful things about Latin America.

ABOUT CABRERA DOMINICAN REPUBLIC
Cabrera, Dominican Republic is the equivalent of a small town. It is located on the North Coast of the country east of Cabarete, Sosua, and West of Las Terrenas and Samana. The town is surrounded by beautiful beaches, views, and very friendly people. We have met many dominicans, haitains, canadianas, and a few americans of all socio-economic status living throughout Cabrera.

Ugh we had a nightmare landlord here too. People that don’t want to rent their houses but want the money 🙄 we left early too. DR looks so nice though! I see why so many head there.

Exactly! There was a lot more to the story too. We couldn't even use certain spaces because she was still "storing" her stuff. So half of the closets and drawers she was using. She had a portrait of her hanging in the house. The more I think about it we should have seen the red flags.

Well I would say my Spanish has greatly improved! But we had a lot of people who helped us. In the video you can see 3 different people. It was really a community effort and all hands of deck ♥️

@@WarrenFearchild us? You are Dominican? Secondly there are 180 other countries they can go to, they can go to a black country in Africa and be around their people. And yet they choose a mixed-race hispanic country smh

That's weird coming from a Dominican who floods America by the millions😅. So answer why do you all go to their country if you don't want them in yours

@@Ozama1221Why everything has to be about race? You should be happy that Americans are spending their money in the DR. That's how Dr survives on the tourism, without tourism dollars from America and Uk. DR a poor third world country, would crash.
