We decided it was time to add some non-horse horse power to our homestead! 💪🏼 Join us for a weekend on our 2-acre homestead for some garden harvests and to meet our new tractor! We are so excited to be adding a small tractor to our homestead and we hope that this BCS tractor will help make the workload a little less work!
*Not sponsored by BCS but willing to be if it means more fun tractor attachments! 🤣

Who are we?
I'm Kaylee: a garden coach, permaculture designer and homesteader. Almost a decade ago, my wife (Lindy) and I said "farewell" the convenient life and set out on a mission to "grow food, live simply & cultivate happiness". We started a small 3/4 acre homestead in Idaho and learned everything we could about living sustainably and growing our own food. In 2020, we moved to the beautiful Pacific Northwest and began creating the 2-acre permaculture homestead of our dreams! And now we are taking you along for the journey with new videos each week!

Excellent overview! Hope you're still loving the 739! Cheers

We also have the BCS 739 and absolutely love it. I mow ~4 acres of pasture with it and the sickle mower attachment. We constantly get teased by our neighbors about when we'll get a "real" tractor, but it's perfect for our needs, sips fuel, and cost a fraction of a similarly capable traditional tractor. Great video!

That is so good to know! The sickle bar mower is one of the attachments we are seriously considering for the future. I’m sure that we’ll get flack for not having a “real” tractor as well 🙄 but this is so incredibly functional! I’d take it any day over a full size tractor. It’s just a much better fit for so many people and properties. So glad you let us know how much you like yours!

Ignore them, they don’t understand. It’s that American mentality get a real tractor. People don’t realize how big these machines actually are until they see them in person I mow 4 acre field as well, and I have one of the biggest bars, the 71 inch as well as the 60 inch a rake and the Baler

@@pinseekergaming4760 Oh man, the rake and baler are on my wishlist. How do you like them?
@pinseekergaming4760
@pinseekergaming4760 Жыл бұрын
@Jack Stepanek Very nicely built. However I wouldn't recommend walking with the damn machine all the four acres. That's why I also got the sulky. The rake is very very professionally built very very easy to handle. All that you have to remember is that you have belts that are not covered so it is best not to leave it outside. Better to keep it in an indoor barn or shed out of the sunlight to keep the belts in much finer condition for longer periods. To replace the belts and the teeth and parts relatively are easy to come across. Some parts take time because they come directly oversea from italy. It's also a good practice to regularly clean. The hay rake don't leave any debris in it from past seasons. Wash it down blow it off however you want to do it. Just make sure it's in neat or fine condition. Grease it Often and there are some grease parts especially for the turn wheels. The baler is the same way more grease points, Depending on how big of a bale you want you can set it from either a thirty five pound bale or lower depending. Make sure to grease the pto system. Where the tractor hooks up to the baler And it will last you a long long time. Reinstalling netrap is very easy and the baler as well. Replacement parts are easy to come by so it's well. Worth the money of $9800 at least. You know you get quality out of that money you spend. 739+ bcs models will run the baler. You can only get the baler from earth tools In the americas. I'm trying to upgrade to their newest machine that they just added to the b c s fleet the 622 reaper which is now available in the America's. It's a grain harvester machine and it's pretty sick. About the size of an atv or u t v

I'm soooo jealous! I want that tractor! LOVE the downspout fountain and those awesome bag beds grew overnight, I swear!

Ah thank you, Chris!! Yes we are sooo jazzed about the tractor! Like it is truly going to help with so many projects! I'm so glad you like the downspout! It was such a fun activity too. Definitely something different for us! And yes, the bag bed garden is going crazy - I was just out there trying to prune back the crazy amount of tomato vines. I'm so happy with it though. I really do feel like the heat-loving crops are doing way better in them.

I have a BCS and in the five years I have owned it it has been great. Just remember to regulalry check the bolts on the quick-hitch and the appliances. If they get loose you could have a bolt shear off - I did but my own fault. I am sure it will be an enormous benefit to you. I have the flail, awesome at grass and brush cutting , the shredder , the power harrow , and the rotary plough. Being in France I can buy from firms like Berta and Rinaldi for some of my kit - though the excellent Earth Tools in the US does stock them. I am jealous of your trailer but cannot justify it on a one acre plot. Incidentally the Rinaldi power harrow is quite good for running on my gravel roadway to loosen weeds. I put it in front rather than by my feet as it alters the weight balance for much easier control.

Another great video! And congrats on the tractor! Any bit of machinery helps so much on a farm. My husband and I cleared our property with a walk behind brush blazer and mini dozer. I couldn’t have imagined doing it by hand!

Girls, I’m 67 and still farm about an eighth of an acre and my old craftsman tiller just died after 35 years. I have been looking at a Grillo that’s about the same size as yours for a while and I am wondering how do you feel about that tractor for an older woman that is alone my biggest concerns are corners because my garden is fenced in. Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated! I’m only interested in the Tiller and the flail mower

Hi Donna, I know I am not them. But I have a BCS 770. Something I have found is important for a 25 year old man is making sure you have proper counter balance on the engine side. These 2wd tractors can turn tight. If you have the extra money get the hydrostatic transmission the 770 (now it’s a 779). You won’t have to shift gears for forward and reversing (you do it a lot in mowing) like you do with standard transmission. Just an idea if you can spend the extra money.
