So I got to spend the afternoon watching Brad and Kyle in person in Allen Park. Ran into Dennis and Kyle from Darren Tang's channel and talked cameras; so much fun. The best part for me was watching the energy conservation of the Pros versus the local and amateurs. The high ultra rev/high speed folks seem to run out of gas in game 3 and suffer dramatic speed loss and splits. The lack of focus also creeps in on spare attempts. If the pros are ever in your area do yourself a favor and go watch, you can learn so much!! Keep up the great work with the bowling and the content!!

Cool that you were on the same lanes as Michael Davidson. He's a great guy, drilled all my bowling balls for the last few years and took my nephew to him for his first real fitting/drill as well. Also, people should know that lanes don't play the same even if the same pattern is put down. That happens in league on house shots too, to a much lesser extent, but if you ever notice it on an easy shot like the typical house shot it's going to be much more exaggerated on a sport/challenge pattern.

I didnt understand lanes could have the same pattern but be totally different until i joined a league. Then it went to another level when i joined a challenge league (rotate between college and pro patterns weekly). And thats between 3 games they change a ton, I can only imagine how much they change for you guys over a day!
@Nuttypeanutt
@Nuttypeanutt Жыл бұрын
Another factor on the lanes aside from what you guys mentioned that people don't think about is that each lane is individually different. Sure they all look the same but when the lanes are first created each piece of wood laid down is different. They're all cut the same but no 2 pieces of wood are exactly the same. Each tiny difference could be a drastic change in how the ball rolls on the lane and in turn, reacts. Could have small nicks in the wood, divots, could be more porous than the next piece, maybe slightly warped, who knows. Some lanes are used more so there's more wear and tear on the lanes, and have more defects from more use. If you scan the lanes you can see how different each lane is to the next. No 2 lanes are the same. When you're a professional you notice these things more than a recreational bowler.

Today's equipment is so high risk/reward. We have a bowler in our league who's ave. is in the 220s with a 30 year old ball that all he does is down and in. He either strikes or leaves a single pin spare-very few opens. Kind of a Norm Duke type shot. Sometimes it is like the ball manufacturing has gone too far at times

Listening to Brad talk about the difference between the lane play between this event and pba weekly and how they can stay more right and more soft here whereas they have to move more and more left during pba weekly. I wonder if they need to inverse how they attack the pba weekly then - start out farther left and then quickly go weaker and softer into the burn track and work into urethane straighter to the right of the early traffic later? Just pondering out loud.
@tismanasou

It's just because of the lane machines. Brunswick machines oil only the forward pass and they don't clean as well as the kegel ones
@jaegerbombgaming6635
@jaegerbombgaming6635 Жыл бұрын
@@tismanasou sure sure. I think my pondering still stands though because it seems like watching their highlights week after week, chasing left with reactive keeps creating cliff'd or over/under reaction. Not to mention the old saying about doing the same thing over and over when it isn't working....lol

Hoping for the best for Brad and Kyle this week. But serious question. How do the pros make it on tour year after year without winning or without even cashing? How do you afford housing, vehicle, food even, etc? I understand sponsors help, but do they pay for everything like that or do sponsors only really cover equipment, and entry fees? Just something I’ve always thought about.

Brad and Kyle only worry about what you can control (shot execution). Let the results be what they are going to be. Execute your makeable spares. Focus only on your shot making and the results will come to you. Any attention on anything negative will creep into your shot making. Wouldn't it be great if every time you had pocket aces you win every hand? It doesn't work that way their are always others variables. Players that can't handle losing with pocket aces are not good poker players. Control what you can control and then relax with the results. Always remember that things do even out where you have gotten a strike on a bad shot sometimes. You are both great players and wish you both the best. Worrying to much about the results gets you mentally tired faster. You should have as much mental energy when the results are bad as they are when they are good. See you in the FINALS.

Started out with 3 in a row then opened thru 2 in a row and opened. You see a trend here lol. So eight frame I get a strike then open in the 9th then strike out for a 199? Talk about focus problems! Keep up the good work guys. Oh, I forgot to tell you I did this with a Radical Double Cross.
