Miami Boat Ramps

Жыл бұрын

Welcome to the Miami Boat Ramps channel. We are dedicated to bringing you all the craziness that goes on at the boat ramps in South Florida! Sit back and enjoy the show!
Ramps we currently cover: 79st (La 79!) / Black Point Marina / Haulover
We are working on adding 2 more ramps to the roster. Stay tuned!
Don't forget to hit the like button, subscribe and leave us a comment. If you don't, we're coming to steal your drain plug!
Also be sure to check out our other channels

• HAULOVER BOATS FIGHT T...
Disclaimer : We receive a ton of emails and messages from people telling us we filmed them at the ramp this past weekend and they want to know when the video will air. This is not a question we can typically answer. We film from three or more ramps every week and have a massive back log of content and sometime it could be weeks or months after an event occurs before we air the video. We put stuff out as fast as we can but we only air three videos a week and in a typical weekend get 6-10 episodes worth of content meaning we get content faster then we can air it. Thanks for watching and just be sure to keep watching looking for your content it will air but probably not immediately after it happens!

This is very informative. I did not even realize wifey would have tasks. The one thing about my GF is that she can barely sit still. We have her do lots of spin class. But, I am not sure she will be jazzed by boat life. Me, I could drop anchor, put on shades, lie out or read and be happy as a clam.

FINALLY ! Video shows some competent boaters. My wife can Captain the boat or back the trailer. She will even take the boat to the lake with her friends. Just floors me watching people on this channel who can't even throw a rope much less get to the dock cleanly. 😮😮

Back in the mid 90's I was sailing on the east end of Long Island where the tall ships visited. Went to the city dock so we could tour the boats and my sister tried jumping from the bow to the dock. NOT a good idea on a sailboat! Her jump pushed the bow away from the dock and she landed on the edge of the dock and then into the water. Ambulance took her to the hospital and she's had pain in that area of her thigh ever since. She was eager to help and learned her lesson the hard way. The next year we sailed south from Sanibel and spent 8 days cruising in the area, so the mishap did not deter her from joining me.

My boat has a small outboard with no reverse and no neutral (small sailboat) and this is how we have to approach docks. Can be pretty tricky in places with small or busy courtesy docks as you have to commit to docking and hope nobody gets in your way, because bailing on an approach is almost impossible once committed.
@DonziGT230
@DonziGT230 Жыл бұрын
@@gregmanning8967 I have one of those, a 2HP. The 'reverse' with those motors is to spin them 180 degrees. It's not as easy as shifting, but it works. It can work better than a traditional outboard because it offers more maneuverability, but the learning curve is sharper.

It appears as if the jet ski was waiting to pick up a passenger (seen walking down the dock)…so not as big of deal if there wasn’t any boats/trailers in line…the jet skier was actually “blocking” the ramp…should’ve given way to boater loading/unloading…which he did 👏🏼…no harm and a successful boat load…also the low tide might have prompted the boat to purposefully back up where his boat wasn’t so that he could back up his trailer properly without hitting the docked boat 😊

Stingrays around the feet is always entertaining. Until you've been stung you just don't care if you feel that little swoosh around the toes because it feels just like moving water which is perfectly normal when your feet are in the water. If you can't see the bottom then you can't tell it's not some wave action but actually the flappy parts of the ray wiggling out from under your feet, so you just walk around feeling this odd sensation which just happen to be the bottom fish of pain trying to avoid getting stepped until you finally step on one and you will never forget that action.

It really makes you wonder what people are thinking. Did they even look at what the wind is doing before they come to the dock. Then when they do get there, they don’t even have fenders for the side of the boat. Folks you have hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of boats and you can’t spare 100 bucks for a few fenders for the side of the boat. Imagine how simple docking the boat would’ve been if you had just looked at the wind before approaching the dock. Would’ve selected the right hand side to begin with people are morons, most of whom should never own a boat.

Standing between truck and throttled up boat is not wise, I know a guy who got crushed when person operating boat smashed down throttle to get boat “unstuck” on trailer. Does the 4th and 5th ammendment not apply when you are on a boat? No one can search my car for the required safety equipment. Why does that change in a boat?
@Eddievoneddie13
@Eddievoneddie13 4 ай бұрын
The 5th Amendment (not ammendment) of the US Constitution (mainly) applies to court proceedings (edit: the pre-charges questioning, "Miranda", and such is a small portion). The 4th applies to "unreasonable" searchs, etc. A request by an LEO or US Coast Guard personnel for you to present your required boating safety equipment is not a search. Furthermore, when you are operating your vehicle, an officer may detain and cite you for missing, inoperative, or improper safety equipment, or the failure to use (wear seat belts) safety equipment. Again, not a search. The FWC officer in the video was properly and legally checking for fishing regulations compliance, not searching.
@michaellowe3665
@michaellowe3665 4 ай бұрын
@Eddievoneddie13 Wrong. The 5th Amendment applies any time you are being questioned by government representatives. It is not just in court. In fact, court is the only place they can compel a witness to testify, but only if they are protected from self incrimination. When driving a car, police can only cite someone for safety violations that can be seen without a search. They can't open your hood and check your brake fluid. I don't know how looking inside hatches and in coolers on a boat would not be considered a search. As typical, law enforcement operates under the assumption that they can do whatever they want until a court tells them otherwise despite the clarity of the constitution.
@Eddievoneddie13
@Eddievoneddie13 4 ай бұрын
@@michaellowe3665 You are obviously unfamiliar with the powers granted to game wardens and wildlife enforcement officers in most states. In most states, they can freely access private land and conduct specific searches of vehicles/vessels during the enforcement of fishing and hunting regulations. Also, the 5th Amendment doesn't apply in the situation that you squalked about in the video.
@michaellowe3665
@michaellowe3665 4 ай бұрын
@Eddievoneddie13 No law enforcement can be granted powers specifically denied them in the constitution. The reason they may continue to get away with it is that they have not been thoroughly challenged. It takes large sums of money to fight a case all the way to the Supreme Court. At any point where a law enforcement agency is about to lose in court, they drop the charges. This is how the ATF continues to exist.
@Eddievoneddie13
@Eddievoneddie13 4 ай бұрын
@@michaellowe3665 Excerpt from case law summary: "A 2012 California Supreme Court case found that even when a game warden lacks reasonable suspicion that a person has violated an applicable fish or game statute or regulation, they may still stop the suspect's vehicle and demand the suspect display any fish or game in the suspect's possession. The U.S. Supreme Court declined to review the California Supreme Court’s 2011 People v. Maikhio warrantless search ruling. The California Supreme Court ruled that a game warden who reasonably believes that a person has recently been fishing or hunting, but lacks reasonable suspicion that the person has violated an applicable fish or game statute or regulation, may stop the suspect's vehicle to demand the person display all fish or game the person has caught or taken. In ruling against Maikhio, Chief Justice Tani Cantil-Sakauye noted that hunters and anglers engage in highly-regulated sports, so they have a diminished expectation of privacy. The court reasoned that the "intrusion upon privacy engendered by a game warden's stop of an angler or hunter to demand the display of his or her catch or take is relatively minor," and furthers the state's interest in conservation." Also, look up "open fields doctrine".

One thing that has become apparent to me watching these multitude of videos is that the majority of so-called boating Americans don‘t understand the first thing about boating, rules-of-the-road, harbor and or docking maneuvers. Generally, total lack of proper training! I am so thankful to live and boat in Europe!
@loupgarou-dj3tm
@loupgarou-dj3tm Жыл бұрын
You can't judge all Americans by one city, or even most boaters by this group. These are mostly folks who spend a lot of money to escape from the city on the weekend, and the water is right there. It's appalling to watch, but so are city drivers. We get tons of American boats in Canada, both trailered in and cruised up, and they generally aren't known for being any less competent than us locals. Not that Canadians don't do dumb stuff, but we need training and licenses at least.

This first boat coming into the dock is a perfect example of why you should use a single continuous line tied bow to stern. The girl on the stern just standing there holding the stern rope while the stern drafts out. If the 2 guys on the dock had one continuous line, one pulls in bow while the other pulls in the stern. This can can done with only one crewman, stop using this 2 line system and least try the one docking line system.
