We Got A Couple Of Phone Calls Saying Someone Was Filming Outside The Police Station 🎥❌😲

Today we take a look around Cannock Police Station, 15 Wolverhampton Rd, Cannock WS11 1AW.
As we arrived we see 2 signs on the front door saying closed and also no opening hours listed on google so we deal with that part first and get the signs removed from the door and hours updated.
We then go round the back for a nosey and take the drone up when 2 PCSO's come out.
We see another example where neither of them knew what a designation card was but eventually one of them remembers what it is and produces it.
We then find and report a dangerous intercom post.
The drone footage showing a full 360 degree view of the area is at the end.
A subscriber has named the Drone David (Drone Assisted Visual Information Detective) so we mention this in this video.

The male PCSO did well. Very willing to look for and show his designation card and wasn't trying to be authoritarian or letting his ego get in the way of serving the public. Good man.

Said he didnt have one then waded thru his ratty wallet before eventually finding it creased and folded. Clearly never been looked at since he got it. He did NOT do well.

@@philswales3814 He had a decent attitude to be fair but it’s unbelievable that so many PCSOs don’t know what a designation card is when it’s a legal requirement to produce it on request when using any of their designated powers.

I cannot believe they don't know what a designation card is, they were physically handed it during training and told their powers. It's also law, Section 42 of The Police Reform Act that says they have to show it. The male PCSO was a listener and appeaser, seemed a nice fellow.

Glad you correctly identified their designation card as so many try to fob people off with other forms of identification which are NOT designation cards which makes them LIARS and untrustworthy.

it is a great get out when they ask you to do something, if they cannot show you the proper designation of powers card , we can just ignore them.

@@bazsnell3178 I suspect that’s not true. If may be against their rules to not show it, but you’d be on the normal rules of complying with a policeman. Would the man on the top deck of The Clapham Omnibus recognise them as police? If yes; so must you. There were even issues of a Constable without a hat on snd whether he was “in uniform” or not. The judges gave that short shrift and applied the standard “Clapham Omnibus” test of what a reasonable person would think.

Isn't showing the designation card definitive proof they are indeed a PCSO,? Same could be said for regular police constables, no warrant card means they could be impersonators, that's surely the point of the designation / warrant card,something harder to replicate as fakes?

@@ianhill4585 it’s certainly evidence, but I suspect you’d be crucified in court if you relied on it if he was in full uniform, got out of a police car, that had come out of the police station and had a dozen policemen round him.

Tried counting the signs at that station, how on earth do they expect members of the public to stop, read, act upon all the demands, on all the doors, walls, windows, notice boards etc.could take a while.

They make it sound like someone outside a police station filming is illegal. They will start filming you, that destroys their own question to you. You can't really answer a question like that.

Not to criticize (as not a citizen of the US) but I was puzzle by the amazing proliferation of disparate signs, as though one should stop and review the whole motley lot before talking to anyone. I wish a citizen would tell us whether this is common in the UK or unusual.

Good job the female PSCO didn't need to rely on any designated powers because by not carrying the designated card could possibly make any powers designated to her that she wanted to use unlawful because "by law" she needs to carry and produce it on request.

The one on the left listened to what you were sayi g .He may not have agreed but he was listening and saying what knowledge he'd been given. The one on the right just made statements without listening so not surprise she carried no card. She really needs more training because she isn't likely to gather information but try to confirm a preconceived notion. That's dangerous when dealing with incidents involving the public.

Love watching your video’s and watching peoples attitudes. Only just got on screen so will watch playback. Keep up the good work glade you wasn’t in a group. The office staff are not really engaging brains with their notices. Closed means closed, not press buzzer. Mind boggles that the police generally have very poor communication skills, where the public are viewed with disdain, not people they provide a service to .

we got a couple of phone calls saying someone was performing a perfectly lawful activity outside the station so we thought we would pile out in force to harass and abuse the one responsible for this outrageous behaviour.

They should be fined for not showing the designation card upon request, glad the man had his on him but the female should be reported for not having it on her person when in contact with the public. Another good vid DJ, keep them up.

Good work DJ! It was hard to make out on camera, however, I was surprised how small his designation card was but maybe PCSOs in that force don’t have many powers lol. It’s usually a slightly larger foldout booklet. I find it amazing that PCSOs are so clueless about their designation card when it’s a legal requirement to carry it and produce it on request when carrying out any of their designated powers. I get the feeling they’ve never been asked for it before.

Thumbs up to the Officer for producing his paper designation card , if think the confusion arises due to some constabularies now have the digital version on the police issue hand held devices .also some officers have stated it is on personal phones . 5.7 Designation cards 5.7.1 PCSOs will be issued with a designation card setting out their powers, a description of the uniform, which must be worn when executing their enforcement powers, their rules of engagement and a risk assessment process by which they will evaluate appropriate action in the discharge of their duties. 5.7.2 These designation cards will be issued on successful completion of their initial training. They must be carried at all times when on duty and must be produced to a member of the public on request.

G'day DJ and David, You are getting better at this, vid by vid. And that's fun. You're getting a good check list going and observation skills. Really enjoyed the "Attenborough break, the shrubs and the twitching". Little snippets of "nature" are welcome interludes. Noted how David keeps an eye on you, should things go pear shaped,,, can see who is talking to you (approaching) quite clearly. (Eye in the sky) Looked like good flying and fascinating panorama. Mix up the content,, you are quickly getting very good at this. 🇦🇺

Hello there. Heard you speak about the drone stuff previously, in terms of the geo-fencing, but now wondering is there a minimum height for flying your drone over someone else's property? Also, what would happen (legally speaking) if it fell into someone's property accidentally, or someone shot it down while you were over their property? Big up a PCSO who had somethjimg he was suppose to have (Like I'm suppose to have a Passport to enter or leave a country) but didn't know what it was until told ?? Sack I would say, clearly he and the others never bothered to listen to their training.
