"That's not explainable." That's an odd statement. I can explain it. Coventry gained confidence through the midfield. Look at the replays. When the ball is played through midfield, look where Fernandes is located on the pitch. Several times when he was rushing forward to press, the ball was going past him the other way to a Coventry player located precisely where he'd be positioned if he didn't lose his positional discipline. Coventry gained confidence through his absence. In fact, Coventry's first quality chance in the first half resulted from this precise situation. When the game should have been won at 3:0 Bruno, Rashford, Hojlund, Garnacho need to come off and the midfield needs to be bolstered. If Bruno isn't the one to come off, he needs to receive explicit instruction to stay in midfield and play some team defence. Keeping Bruno on does not promote stability. He can't pass the ball around to stave off another team's momentum. He style of play thrives on disorganization. I don't think Ten Hag should leave, but I do think he's very loyal in defending his captain in order to stop rifts within his squad. It's an ugly situation for Ten Hag because its obvious what is wrong with United.

Because when McTominay is supposed to say in CDM, he’s trying play striker. We have been caught out SO many times by McTominay being up the pitch instead of protecting his defence. Every time Ten Hag brings Mainoo off, we lose control of the midfield.

@@Discombobulate453 I agree that McTominay gets forward but, it's clear he's not playing out of position as far as Ten Hag is concerned. It's obviously pary of Ten Hag's strategy because when another player plays in that role they end up in the same positions. Suffice it to say, McTominay is not positionally undisciplined. He just happens to be instructed to play further forward because Ten Hag seems to want to have two advanced midfielders. On the other hand, Bruno is positionally irresponsible. He regularly leaves his position to press past Hojlund, leaving United with only two and sometimes one player in midfield. He's at rightback. Sometimes in the defensive line. Sometimes deeper than the defensive line. He's all over the place. And, it's not productive. It's disruptive.

@@ElliotHazyday-ki2up I should. I'd start with a #redo92. First step, ship Bruno and Rashford anywhere else. Bring Gore and Fernandez back from loan. Bring in Archie Gray and any other youth talent with high potential. Focus on English players at first to reduce the likelihood that a player might not settle which would disrupt the project. Maybe take a look at the younger Bellingham. He may not be as good as his brother, but he'll be good enough and they are clearly hard workers. Buying older players (despite being skilled) and recruiting players who are not capable of putting team above themselves (i.e. the Pogbas, Rashfords, Martials, etc etc) needs to end. There is no quick fix. It's like Sean Connery said in the movie the Untouchables "If you're afraid of getting a rotten apple, don't go to the barrel. Get it off the tree." Hence, #redo92; go with youth. United have to seek young players with potential, discipline, emotional fortitude, and who can be coached.

People are blaming the Manager but it's the players who are really at fault. Manchester United has a bad player culture. Look at Marcus Rashford for instance. He wasn't that good for a number of seasons but when his contract was up for renewal he CHEATED the club, the Manager and the fans and would score almost IN EVERY MATCH. Now that his contract is signed he's back to his former self. He has no effort even against a championship side. Manchester United needs to stop being sentimental. Don't shield garbage players just because they emerged from the academy or are English. Get rid of them. Don't keep players because they won IN THE PAST UCLs elsewhere. David I do agree but I can notice couple of things. The 3 goals which were conceded all came from the left hand side aka wan bissakas defending zone. This is a trend I have noticed against chelsea and Liverpool. The goals have been conceded through the left side without a proper left back. Our defensive set up is awful, even newport county played comfortably through it like most teams do. As good as mainoo is on the ball, I reckon is off the ball game isn't fully developed yet that I think is more down to the set up. So everyone is not blameless. It's a culmination of managers,players and other elements

Like it or lump it, this blokes got to three domestic finals out of four. Look at Forest away in February with Casemiros goal in the last minute, and the similarities to 1990 therein. Look how we kept going and beat Liverpool against all odds five weeks ago. City couldn’t hit the side of a barn (33 shots and 1 goal) and Real parked the bus (which I’ve never seen them do in a CL game, but fair play bc it helped win the game) with great focus to keep the spaces small and Pep showed his inability to adapt his tactics which he did last season. Maybe it will happen again, but for Real to win, you needed those 3 things to work in unison. Do you really think City will be that poor in front of goal, MU will be so focussed as not to slip up defensively and Pep won’t adapt his tactics at all? Possible but not probable

He’s continues to play such a high line that we don’t have the players to properly execute it and as such, every team that plays us (MU included) has gotten joy on the counter and many teams have scored against from it. Why Pep continues to do this I have no idea, but it’s been detrimental all season and was truly exposed in both legs of the Real game. If Pep doesn’t adapt like he did last season, there is def a world where MU scores a few and wins convincingly. Then again, if MU play like today, it could be MU on the receiving end. All I know is that in 152 years of the FA we’ve never had a Manc Derby and now in the course of 2 seasons, we have 2 back to back Derby Finals is insane. Looking fwd to it regardless

The problem is the manner in which Man Utd plays. The team looks disjointed in every single game. It always looks like you took a bunch of individuals and just put them in a team for the first time. I mean do they even practice together? It doesn't look like it. What is their identity? What is their game plan? Going forward they lack pace and ideas, sometimes they press, sometimes not. Sometimes half the team presses and the other half doesn't. And at the back they look disorganised, hence why they can never see a game out comfortably. Its an absolute shambles, and all this is down to the manager.

I blame him for making poor substitutions after going 3 goals up. Why would you remove your CDM and put Mctominay on his own along with Eriksen. I would've moved Mctominay and got Eriksen on. We became open after that sub.

But Chelsea and United had time to rest and practice, and instead they ridicule themself. Chelsea couldn't score against a zombie team after 30 shots on target. It's not complicated. You take Rashford OUT. Stop allowing players to play at a LOW level consistently.and you have the solution. You cannot look at him and say it's OK. It's not. Take him out. He plays like shit non stop. All season this is happening. When you don't take him out you send a SIGNAL. The signal is.... it's OK to play like shit and you will stay in the team. This is WRONG. It's ignorant management. STOP IT. Take responsibility and REMOVE bad performances. That's your job. Get out if you can't do it. NOW.

I think the solution to this man utd mess is to fire Ten Hag NOW!!! because he has lost the dressing room, rarely uses youth, a rigid coach who uses the same sytem every time despite failure & doesn't like squad rotation, then on temporary basis bring a good vibes coach to pamper these prima donnas they might finish top 6 then in summer bring a no nonsense coach like De Zerbi & carry out a PROPER CLEAR OUT. One good thing with De Zerbi is he can do wonders with youth and average players....united won't require superstar signings he will work with talents like Openda, Jonathan Davids, Ivan Toney, Vlahovic, Brahim Diaz, Sergej Milenkovic, Ousmane Diomande, , Johan bakayoko, zubimendi, Latin America talent, replace Rashford with mitoma, Neco Williams or Leao etc The only players who can raise big revenue are Shaw, Rashford and Bruno SELL THEM!!! The market is flooded with their replacements
