Hope your first Christmas with baby girl was amazing! My son is 18 months it was so much fun this year watching him enjoy playing with his new toys he wasn't really into the unwrapping part but the after was a lot of fun ❤️

We have a farm in Maine. I love my Silkie! We have 29 chickens 4 roosters who are ok together. We have a duck who thinks she is a chicken and a chick who thinks she's a parrot lol. I have 3 horses, 30 years old, 17 years old, and a 2 year old. All 3 are rescues We also have 9 shetland sheep and 2 geese. I love my little farm!

That was great seeing you multitasking with Ryder. She's such a cutie. I had a couple of Silkies years ago. A Great Horned owl got them. There was a small gap between the fence and the roof and it got in through there. Amazing how small of a hole one of those big birds can fit through. Not only were there a few footprints, it also left behind a feather. Can't blame the owl for doing what owls do. It didn't bother any of the Rhode Island Reds though.

Hey, Tyler, make sure you keep checking the shade line from the shed for your chickens, because the sun changes positions throughout the year. It's more directly overhead in the summer, and more angled in the winter.

Silkies are the greatest incubators, they'll set on anything! I've had one try to set on a rock! Hope all of you had a fantastic Christmas. Ryder is growing fast!!

Oh Tyler Ryder is just beautiful!!! You’ve taken so naturally to fatherhood!!! Suits you!! I worked at an animal shelter and someone dropped off a box of silkies. I kid you not they were the favourites in the entire shelter! They were such characters!!! There was one that would lose her mind and jump around every time we brought up a cellphone, like she wanted her picture taken, such a model! Can’t wait to see their antics

Chickens are awesome! Could just put some grill or some small wheels on the chicken coop that way you can move/rotate the spots it sits and not have your grass ruined etc.

Love silky chickens, but remember their eggs are smaller than a standard large egg, so if Gianna likes to bake, you might want to get a couple of Rhode Island Reds or another cool variety. Ryder is so cute, when you were holding her I looked at her tiny feet and noticed how her big toe was going in one direction and her baby in the opposite, sooo she's going to be a toe curler for sure,lol. Looks like all is falling into place Tyler, I hope you all had a Merry Christmas.

I’m with Gianna……my A/C is on 68 deg all the time. But the past couple nights in the 30’s……yeah, that’s a bit too cold for me. Everything’s really going well Tyler, I’m happy to see that!!🐍❤️🐍

You should have gotten a coop that you can move. You move it every week and their poop will fertilize your grass but stops them from destroying your grass. I love everything you do man. Keep rocking.

Hope you guys had a great Christmas!!! Baby girl Ryder is so precious!!! You'll love the silkies. They are hilarious and tend to be more social with people. You'd also love Delaware chickens. They are great layers and can take the cold and heat.

Tyler, it' so kewl, that you have a chicken interest, Silkies are such an unusual breed, but considering it's December, don't be surprised if you have a small hatch, fertility is low this time of year compared to spring. Good luck with your hatch. I keep OEG bantams, black breasted red, they come in a lot of colors.I also have a pheasant collection. Good luck with your hatch, (keep the humidity ar 45%) and stop turning 3 days before they hatch, so they don't get discombobulated inside the shell and hatch is harder for them.

Yay for chickens 🐓 I had Silkies and Rhode Island Reds, they had so much character! My Rhode Island Red rooster would sit on the back of my goat and ride him all over the property, it was the cutest thing ever 🥰 I also had quackless ducks! I had never heard of them before but when we got our Pot Belly Pig, they had just hatched and they were adorable so we couldn’t pass them up. They sounded like they had laryngitis Lol 😂 it was too cute 🥰 I’m so excited for a Turouk video! I’ve missed that big chicken so much!

If I was younger I would love to help full time. I could live at the back of your property in a tiny shed house. I use to work with many wild animals back in the 90`s. My favorite will always be our Florida alligator. GOD bless and Happy New Year to yall !

Happy New Year ❤💙❤ Also... At 6 to 8 weeks the comb and wattles of the male chicks will start to grow larger and redder than the females... If you can find them on Silkies 😂 also... Move the coop and run. Fertilizes the yard

I love Silkie chickens too and you're right - fresh eggs taste so much better than store bought!! You'll definitely have to critter proof your chicken pen. In the area I live hawks will wipe out the fowl if they are in an open pen. Plus the raccoons and opossums will dine on the eggs. Looking forward to seeing what colors you'll end up with. Your daughter is so cute!! Thanks for that little clip she was in. 🙂

I’m so pleased you have your chicken eggs. I keep chickens & I absolutely love them & they are such characters. I’m glad you are going to let them free range during the day. Maybe get yourself some really fine mesh netting to cover the run in case you get a break out of avian flu. Then it’s not a mad rush to find some. I’m super excited to see them hatch & let’s hope you don’t get too many boyz 😂

If I were you I'd double wall that mesh with some heavier gauge and drive some grates around the perimeter to prevent digging. Raccoons will get their way into that coop with that factory mesh

Get a booster pump for your ro setup and supercharge that thing. I can usually fill up a 300-gallon tote in a day. It used to take 3 days minimum before i got the booster pump.

A lot of people around me,lol small town in California, are starting to get chickens. The cost of eggs here is $8 a dozen. My mom once had so many different kinds of chickens that she didn't have to diy eggs for Easter.
