Major snow storm on the eastern side of Newfoundland. What usually takes me 2-2.5 hours to clean up took me 10 hours. Now that it’s cleaned up we are expecting 25-50mm’s of rain. Crazy weather.

Well this one wasn’t for the faint hearted. You wake up to howling winds, white outs, rain, ice pellets and three feet of snow and there’s only one thing to do. Get’er done lol. All jokes aside. This was a bad one but I wanted you all to see it’s not always a cake walk. Thanks for watching.

Hi Paul & Kathy, Crazy Weather is the understatement of the year for sure! I remember a few of those "big" storms years ago, but this one is something else. And to have to clear it over the course of two days just on your own property - wowser is right. Here in NW WI where we normally get 10+ snow plowing event our winter has been a bust. I plowed 2 times - and the second one I could have easily not even gone out. Our snow total for the season is under 15" (average over the past 100+ years is 58"!) so we're preparing for a drought and the farmers around us are hurting. Like you though, I am sure glad to have a tractor for plowing. A regular plow truck would have died just looking at those drifts. Take care and give us an update on the rain/flooding. - Fred

This was a rare occurrence for us Fred. Might never see the like of that again but it was a nasty one. 24 hours later and it’s pouring rain outside. I was glad when I got it done all the same. Thanks for watching and commenting. God bless.

Paul, all I can say is WOW. That is an amazing amount of snow to had to deal with and to have it wet and heavy is even worse. I've been dealing with snow for over 50 years in upstate N.Y. and have dealt with some big drifts but nothing like yours. You are very fortunate to have the equipment to handle that kind and amount of snow you had. I want to say two things as this is the first time that I've commented to one of your video's. You do a nice job with all your video's so keep them coming. I also want to give you a compliment for the nice work you have done to your tractor with all your accessories including the light bar.. I know the work that goes into it but it all came out nice. You did a good job handling that amount of snow and did it the proper way. Have a great day and take care, Curt.

Hi Curt. Thanks for your kind comments. People just don’t know what wet snow really is. Just before this storm we had 9 hours of freezing rain and then came the snow. It made for a measurable time for everyone around these parts. I wasn’t even going to do a video but Kathy captured most of the footage so I said why not lol. The last few years we haven’t had much in the way of snow. One winter (2021) I didn’t plow the property once. Weird times sir. Glad you liked my work. I’m my own worst critic so I need to do my very best at all times because I’m rough on myself. It’s obvious you know about snow clearing. It’s like everything we do. Some folks are good at it and others not so much. Everything is like that in life You keep well and again, thank you for your kind words. It helps me keep interested in doing video. God bless you and your family.

My God, Paul. I’m just speechless watching this video. The sheer scale of it all. The truly awesome power of your machine and to see it work so hard to make progress. And you’re an expert operator! I can’t imagine what a terrible time if I found myself in this situation with a much smaller machine and a decidedly amateur skill set! I’d have to burn 20 gallons of diesel and try to mount my microwave oven to the front!🤣🤣🤣🤣. So glad you and Kathy are safe and sound and the power didn’t go out. Now, up to 2” of rain! Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers!

It’s the worst I’ve seen here. The hard part was trying to get to the shelter to get the tractor. I really didn’t think I was going to get through that 4 feet of snow. Yes it can be very overwhelming with all of this in two nights but you set your mind to achieve one step at a time and each achievement is a reward to getting it done. You’re just being humble. You’d have no issues doing it. We all can do anything if we’re desperate enough lol. Hope you and the family are doing well. Kathy says hi. God bless you and yours my friend.

NOT a job for my BX2380, probably wouldn't even get it out of the driveway, all the diesel fuel is ready for extreme cold. But luckily this year at my elevation I got 2 inch' of snow during the night and it would melt off by 10:00 am, One thing the BX2380 is good for is maintaining the gravel driveway so it gets drivable again. The Columbia River is really hi today so when the snow top mountains melt (MT Rainier) it's probably going to overflow - BTW the weather man says after three days of rain it's going to move from upper 30s to 70 degree mark, Yikes. Anyway, nice to see you and the Kubota at work - Very Cool. Robert

Well it’s always more fun when all that snow is in someone else’s yard lol. These types of jobs require you to know the limits of your machine and not to surpass that limit. The more you push it beyond its boundaries the more risk you run in damaging your machine and leaving you with a mess you can’t clean up. If you respect the machine, treat it well then you’ll be able to get it all done and everyone is happy. It’s not so much fun for me but there’s a lot of satisfaction in doing these things well.

I bet this happened while you were sleeping? See, this is what happens when you sleep, you miss out on getting a jump on it and then it is hard work. Maybe suggesting to Kathy that you start sleeping in shifts will keep this from happening to you again. Please film that part and post the results. ;) thanks for the videos, hope y'all are well.

Seems the East coast is getting all the snow this yr as in my part of NxNW BC this is the least amount of snow I have seen in my 14 yrs out here. Most years we get 3-4' on the ground in the valleys and barely have got more than 6" total on the ground this yr (so far hahaha)

I think blowing the snow 2-3 times to where you need it is more efficient than the plow or bucket? Although you can't leave it too long to harden😁, have you tried that technique before? When it starts getting deep you do have to go really slow but the hydrostat works great for that. Plus since you have a 3pt blower, you can lift and leave a foot or two, back up until its near your tires, pull forward quick and then get the rest. At least you didn't have a frame mounted front blade, that would have been really tough, I'm a big fan of the loader mounted plows👍

Yes they are. They’ve been there for over 12 years. Held up really well. I did a few videos on installing them. We had one cover that was beat up with the sun then a topical storm can through and tore it off so we purchased a commercial one from Shelter Logic and that one is way heavier.

Yup you got hit hard . Suggestion i know you explained why u could not use the snowblower but what about blowing the snow forward just like you were using the bucket . I have areas i can only blow the snow forward takes time but once you get to a point there are spots to put the snow . Also if you talked to your neibours i think they would have been ok with you blowing the snow their way if you agreed to help them out once your dug out like your deck ect . Just thoughts and suggestions .

Neighbour is an arse hole so that’s out and look at the bucket while I’m working. Notice anything? See the snow sticking to the bucket? How do you think that snow will work getting squeezed into a chute? Maybe plug? You bet and when that chute plugs it plugs big time. See the who point of this video was to show everyone the perfect storm that in most cases would stop you in your tracks but if you chose the right tools for the tractor which will make it more doable in the end as I showed. You can’t back into a 13 foot X 25 foot drift with wet snow and expect it to perform can you?
