this has been super interesting to watch because i thought you were already a minimalist. like your house always looks like there isn't much in it. not in a bad way, just super clean and not a lot of stuff! but it's crazy what we can keep in closets, drawers, etc etc. A few months ago I moved and I was disgusted with how much stuff I had. I purged like a mad woman. So now every time I buy a new piece of clothing or jewelry or makeup, I get rid of something in that same category. It's like you have NO CLUE just how bad it is until you pull everything out.

Yes, do a tour of your house. You’re great at cleaning and decorating. I really enjoy watching your house tours. Your style has changed so much. I still remember the lovely tours you did when you lived in Hawaii.

I seriously can not believe how much you have changed. I remember first finding you on you tube a good few year back and everything was hot pink and animal print. This way suits you so much more. You look relaxed, healthy, happy thank you for taking us on your journey x

now you will just go out and buy more stuff and not feel guilty. that is why our landfills are so full. throw away that is what people do.

I just moved to AZ and everything I own fit in my Kia Optima😊 It’s been a process of living a wanderer lifestyle since 2013. It feels really nice to be content with what I have. And to question once in awhile holding on to things I don’t really use. Minimalism is an ongoing process. It’s so freeing.

I would love to see a wardrobe video, do you even have any clothes left? I didn’t think you had many after your last wardrobe declutter!

Oh I’m so glad I came across your videos again after a few years. I’ve started to be a minimalist but last year. I hate selling. I don’t like dealing with people🤣🤣

This was so motivating Christine! I wish my husband had the same mindset for decluttering as Michael does! 😂 I felt sad for poor Michael that he spent money on products for his skin condition that did nothing to help him - how frustrating 😢❤️

I really appreciate that you didn't just toss stuff but re-homed it through craigslist etc. I think if more of us practiced "un-buying"-- finding homes for items we no longer want or need we would be more thoughtful about what we brought into our homes. thanks for sharing your journey.

WOW! I am surprised you had an extra 1,000 items. Def. want to see tours of each room. If it is okay I would like to see closets too but I'm just nosy. I love your decorating style. Hubby is slowly getting used to having less things sitting around and is getting to be okay with less items (we still have plenty). He is actually contributing to our decluttering here and there and I'm ecstatic. So nice that your Hubby is on board with this challenge. You both did fantastic jobs with this challenge...WIN!!!

You guys always have such great luck with Craigslist! It's a mess when I try. One example: I posted a painting with details and pics and I had different people ask me to describe all the colors (there were over 20, and the pics were very clear. Stupid me answered with the whole list and never got a response), deliver it to a town an hour away (thereby losing $ in gas costs), hold it for two months until the buyer had money for it -- stuff like that. In the end I donated it. The $10 wasn't worth the hassle. And this is just one example! I've never had an online sale work for me. 😢

Great video series. I have really enjoyed watching for motivation to do the same. I started my minimalism journey around 8 years ago, but with 2 kids there is always more to declutter. 😊 I would love to see some room tours or a house tour.

That’s amazing! You’ve done an awesome job! You have really inspired me over the month of March. I cleaned out my clothes, purses, shoes, scarves, new makeup I’ve never used, jewelry, some toys I had hanging around the house from when my nephews and niece were small. Curtains that no longer match our new kitchen decor, casserole dishes and pans I never use. Small kitchen appliances I’ve never used. And I’m still in the middle of purging my craft supplies. I think the craft supplies are going to our local children’s museum. They’re privately run and they are always in need to markets, crayons, paper, scissors, paint, etc.... The toys are going to our local women’s shelter. When I was working as a social worker I had so many clients who would come in after a fire, natural disaster or if they had to escape a bad home situation with their mom. Toys were something these shelters don’t consider toys to be a necessity. So as long as you clean them with 1 part bleach to 5 parts water, soak all of the toys for a few hours then allow to dry, they can definitely use them.

So well done! I completed the minsgame decluttering 4 years ago and it transformed my life. I kept decluttering and to this day i have gotten rid of 2072 items. Documented the whole journey on instagram to keep myself accountable and really pleased how it turned out

I think this is so interesting to realize what you have accumulated. For me it usually means also to realize the material worth of all these items and what I am basically binning as I wouldn't be able to sell most of it. I don't have a lot of unused items and I also don't have a high class wardrobe so that I could sell used items. But it does remind me again and again that I want to invest more in less high class pieces instead of a bunch of low class and cheap and I don't just means clothes but all areas - kitchen tools, cosmetics etc. I would to see a closet tour after the purge. 🙂

i wish i had a garage or someplace to store all my things... i recently gave away about 40 giant containers of (very new and high quality items) and STILL have clutter I mean dangerously close to being on HOARDERS show clutter but watching you guys do this makes me have hope ha ha ha

Hi Christine & Michael. I was watching your older garden videos where you grew fruits and vegetables, do you not do that anymore? I notice you have a lot of succulents 🌵and got rid of quite a few of your planting supplies.

My goal is to get rid of 1000 things this month too! I am not doing a certain number a day, just what I find, I count. I did my son's closet and already had 45 items of clothing and shoes. Add in items from the very front of my closet, and I am already at 60 items today! I am still working on it! Maybe I will keep commenting to keep track!

Michael u said something about eczema , try cerave lotion,it’s over the counter. And the one dollar tree has a psoriasis cream that is really good as well .

Hey I just stumbled onto this video and I liked it. I have kind of a weird comment/suggestion: I don't know if you are still struggling with the eczema, but there is a good creme called Bepanthen by Bayer, it works really well and isn't expensive. I think it is sold as diaper rash creme in the States, but I'm pretty sure it is the same thing ;)
