→ We were ROBBED in Mykonos and it was a horrible experience! As soon as we arrived on the island, after we just traveled 3 hours, the thieves found us and destroyed everything. Since we were there with our family, the experience was more difficult to deal with. Despite what happened, we chose to stay and be happy!

This is terrible! Not only is it scary but you never know what could happen when you confront the robbers. I am so happy you both are unharmed and your children are safe. I know it's hard to lose your Hermes bags - that's awful. It makes you very cautious on traveling because you never know what can happen. Definitely insure all valuables and I leave all my really good jewelry at home. Thank you for sharing your experience and it makes me thankful for all I have. (This is all a very good warning about AirBnB and how best to do research before booking and only booking with AirBnB's 5 star recommended hosts.) The way you two tell the story is hilarious though, which is no mean feat!

The best part of this for me is that Caroline and Sergio could never have imagined how difficult the journey would become to get to an irresistable AIrBNB in Mykonos, one of the most beautiful places on the earth, and realized they were going to have to do a quick pivot. What is a Chanel wheelie? Is that a roll-aboard? You two are adorable together, and hilarious! I'm so glad you two are having so much fun and living life to the fullest. I know I've been staying in hotels lately. I take a nice watch if it's a business trip, wear a vintage silver necklace, and earring's are from talented artists at craft fairs and the like. "Don't come to our house." Love it..

Makes me so angry that these scumbags think it is ok to rob and steal things that don’t belong to them ! I am so terribly sorry for you. Greece is in the middle of a migrant crisis, criminality is booming, prisons are full of foreign criminals. I too have been robbed in my home in Athens by a cleaning lady from Georgia. Ruthless illegal immigrants from the Balkans, the ex USSR, Africa and Asia are fleeing in my country. The situation is out of control.

Can Sergio either move the microphone away from his mouth or talk less? I need subtitles . You were setup. probably everyone who stays there gets robbed. I always google map a place before I book it to make sure it's near where I want to go. Also everyone leaves their jewelry at home now, especially the Cartier bracelet - it's a dangerous world.

It must be an insider job. You never know what kind of owners of those air bnb. I stayed in hotel when I was overseas. I usually bring a pair of fake earrings, $2.50 per pair bought several years ago.

ALWAYS TRUST YOUR GUT INSTINCT. When you first drive there, you didn’t like the feeling. You could go and look at the house just drive straight back to town and find a hotel. Never ever put yourselves in risky situations, Ever. You don’t know what kind of burglaries they are. Are they high on drugs and don’t know what they’re doing? They can have weapons. Even more dangerous in that case Caroline, please tell me about your two experiences in the St Tropez robberies and also in Marbella. I hear a lot of people are victims of this in St Tropez. To the point people are struggling to sell homes there. Or is it a certain area that’s worse than others in Tropez? Glad you’re all fine but please, trust your gut instinct, even if it feels silly. It’s always right.; ,

Renting Avoid Sparou area of Namos high risk best safe beach area Ayios Ioannis best sunset best view great restaurant Hippie fish they are Mykonian family they have much accommodation you can trust with your life also 10 min drive on direct road to Chora and other beaches also st john hotel over there can’t beat that area i know some private rentals too there …. In town above old port theres a great villa best host !!!!! Great view best everything can even walk to Chora or host can drop off …. Sorry this worried me because a friend of ours was murdered in a robbery he was not tourist but took in an Albanian girl as companion as he was lonely “ who had friends” not trying to scare you …. I am very careful there .

My best friend was just robbed a few hours ago in Mykonos. They had rented an 8 bedroom villa through Airbnb. They stole all of their things will they were gone for an hour. Sorry this happened to you.

How did you call the police when there was no reception? Just wondering how to get around that. Would help if you are more focused next tim because you are both all over the shop.. not fun to listen to when it’s hard to follow due to interruptions all the time. You said you had no neighbor but then there’s a man standing there watching him? From where lol?? Jesus, do better next time please lol.. storytelling is important. Anyway, police can be involved in these robberies as well I’m sure.

Mykonos is the dump of the Greek islands, there are 101 other islands, more beautiful, far less expensive, 1000 times better food, 1000 times better level of tourist - meaning no scumbag tourists, more culture and better beaches. So, DON'T GO!!! You will get ripped off. Go to: Sifnos, Skopelos, Paros, Anti-Paros, Spetses, Santorini, Crete and on and on and on.... all the fashion victims like Caroline + entourage head the Mykonos, people are learning not to though.
