For a long while part of me felt bad about having a Honda civic an ‘05 civic lx special edition that was originally my mom’s car kinda made me feel bad cause everyone clowns on them despite there being civics that have been built to be really fast. I don’t plan on going that route but I still want to make it into my vision. It may not be the typical civic that people build but it holds sentimental value to me which is why I love it. But your words at the start of the video reminded me that as long as I’m happy with it, that’s what matters. Who cares what anyone else thinks!

A Del Sol is most likely going to be my first project car. Small, nimble, light, easy to work on, and pretty adaptable with widely-available civic parts. It's like Honda baby miata, love it.

It caused quite a stir when he got a pulled over for going 169 km/h and had to show up for court in Duck Lake, SK. Neither of us are Honda guys but it was awesome. So much better than my 88 Pontiac Bonneyville 🤢

Man, I used to have bone stock del sol with d16z1 i think and it was amazing car ❤ only not stock thing was the exhaust, wheels and steering wheel 😬 1992, no abs, no airbags etc. And it had stock trunk spoiler and looked amazing

While the del sol isn't the most track worthy car, it is still a joy to drive. I got my automatic this past November and k swapped it, making it even more fun.

The great thing about del sols are they are light if you want to go fast, and they get LOW LOW if you're going for a good low stance.

We have quite a few Honda guys that we race with and two of my best buddies, who are brothers, both have Del Sols and they both rip and run 10's in the quarter mile. Definitely awesome to showcase a car that not everyone has. I do love my EG Si hatch though.

I’ve seen people take bumper off then remove front rad support / crash bar and put washers in on the bottom of the crash bar mount points angling it slightly up therefore when you bolt your bumper back onto the rad support it sits closer/ tighter to fender and hood line, Honda Prelude being the car I’ve seen it on but the idea should transfer car to car maybe, worth a shot before buying expensive brackets? Maybe maybe not sure tho**

UK owner here, bought mine new in 1993, got married so sold it in ‘96. Missed it all my life whilst the kids grew up. Saw it for sale and bought it back in ‘21 - the del sol should be the del soul

Del Sol is far from the most hated. Its probably one of the most coveted in the Honda community. The EP3 Civic Si is probably the most hated Honda. In the US we got the EP3 with a K20A3 (160hp) which is the engine in the base RSX that has the economy vtec (no real crossover) and only revved to 7k rpm. It looked like a mini van and made the same HP as the EM1 Si with the B16 but at least that car was light and had REAL Vtec

my buddys k24 turbo integra had oil build up on the return line just from one part being higher up so it couldnt gravity bleed and smoked, those lines are very finicky

That’s actually so funny. My grandfather has a honda del sol. Sadly it’s rotting away in his driveway. Parts of the frame are just rotting away like it’s nothing and it kills me to see it like that. I’ve always wanted to rebuild the car but everyone told me it’s too much work this and that. Although i’m saving for my first car, i would love a project. I know it might not be smart to do it because i’m 17, but still. LET ME KNOW WHAT I SHOULD DO!!!
