I just brought my 1 1/2 year old son to his pediatrician today for his weight, measurement and he had 3 shots. I gave him Motrin and he took a nice nap when we got home, he was falling asleep in the car on the way home. After his nap he too, was very active and played alot. As a nurse this is the first time I’m hearing giving shots in the arm so young. In my clinic we usually start that at 4 years old because their thighs (vastus lateralis) is better & also a bigger muscle to just handle that. But since they went in the back of his arm for more of a subcutaneous shot that was his MMR & Varicella vaccine. I know different states can’t have a different vaccine schedule but as long as you follow the schedule after the 18 month shots they get a break. I understand as a parent when you’re not ready for all of the shots. It’s a lot seeing your baby in pain. But Shine is so sweet & strong so I know he’s good ❤️

Yes to all, but also massage his arms gently with some baby lotion or oil just for a few minutes, about once every hour or two one of you on each side and you'll knock it out quick. You don't have to do it when he's sleeping just when he's awake for a day. It really helps.
