@freespiritequestrian why would you waste those nicer stalls and not donate them to a horse rescue or something like that? Rescues need things like those stalls. Why waste them like that, they still had good use to them. I'm sad that you didn't donate them to someone who could have used the blessing.

I was happy that when Kyle was describing the construction of the stalls, he said "it's hard work, but I'm excited." He seems like strong, silent type, so I'm glad he's excited considering how much work he's having to do. If you haven't already told it, I'd love to hear your "how we met" story. I'll bet it's a great one. How did you meet, fall in love, get married & become partners in a horse farm? You two are so great together. So complimentary & supportive! ❤

What would we do without our parents always coming to help out. I think it’s awesome. My mom and dad always helped us. My father’s dad was an architect and all the sons learned masonry, electrical and so much more. I miss having my father around to ask for advice or help. He was so knowledgeable.

I feel your emotion....my Dad had a custom homebuilding business and I was his shadow anytime I could go to the job sites with him. My mother didn't like me to go because the men there swear! Whenever she would go away for two days to drive up to see her mother, Dad would always take me if I wasn't in school. As the years went on I kept his office for him, I was working part time after school days and in the summer for a Certified Public accounting office and I learned so much that I was able to bring that knowledge to my Dad, I was the one who told him he needed to Incorporate which he did and was glad to have done so. But, yeah A dad that can do just about anything is a precious gift and I lost him in 2010 and I miss his advice and even though he was too frail to work on my crazy projects he was always there to inspect and be helpful. I looked to marry someone that was a doer like my Dad, but that never happened and so I went on in life by myself rather than marry someone who I would always be comparing to my Dad, that wouldn't be fair to a guy and it would not have worked for me to have a husband that could not work with his hands. Kyle is amazing and he is a dying breed of man and that is for sure. I am 71 yrs old and still do stuff I probably shouldn't but I enjoy projects. I am completely doing my small mother in law apartment in my younger brothers house where I live over. Took up all the carpet and prepared the subfloor for new flooring, repainting everything , hanging a mural and doing an Ombre wall treatment on the rest of the walls, and hang off of a huge step ladder in order to cut in against the VAULTED ceiling and then when the walls and such are redone, I will be taking out my current wooden furniture with the 70's look and updating by refurbishing all of it with a new paint job and hardware. Its probably the last big project for me, my brother thinks I am nuts, and doesn't want me up on ladders, but he hates to paint and I know he won't do the type of precise job that I will so he has to let me. I told him I fall, he can call the ambulance!

Suggestion: take the old barn wood (the long thinner planks), cut them into smaller lengths, clean/sand if needed, use a laser engraver to burn some sayings into it (e.g. I heart horses), and sell them on your website. Then people could own a small piece of the farm and a nice horsey sign to boot! :o)

I was waiting for this day to come. I knew it was coming and mentioned that a week or so ago. You said in Springtime you were going to “revamp” all the stalls. I m sure, bc you guys are so thorough, well researched, efficient with time, cost and strategy, practical, crafty, passionate about the work to be done, it will all go well ... And, also you are truly wonderful visionaries! I look forward to the journey of the work in progress and the management of all the moving parts: the construction; the horses’ rotations; the daily chores mixed in with the barn interior renovation; the way things will get done if weather becomes difficult; the amount of time involved for the major completion; the reorganizing (temporary and permanent) of the tack, feed & supplements, the hay on top or wherever; the office; and all the bits and pieces of a working livestock barn!! Hallelujah! May all this big undertaking go safely (no injuries!), smoothly, professionally, happily and lovingly! Peace, Love and Blessings to Everyone involved in this challenging endeavor. My support, best wishes for continuous well-being, my concern and care for FSE Farm, and my positive, deep affection for the whole family will be on my mind constantly throughout this project…. and Ad Infinitum! ❤️☮️💟🙏🐖🐴🐎🐕🐈‍⬛👫♾♥️

The new stalls are going to look amazing! I'm glad you got a design that will let the horses put their heads out and see each other and maybe look outside. I've seen far too many horses penned up without any views outside the stall and it's sad to me. And the wood you chose is beautiful.

Awesome! This is the type of manual labor I love doing. Wish I was there to help these two "dudes" tear down the old stalls 👊💪😁

The new stalls are so pretty!!! The lighter wood is going to brighten up the interior so much you're going to love it! The old stalls lasted so long I hope they're able to be recycled and maybe help upgrade somebody else's current stall situation. I love your color coordination you even matched your outfit with the new lipstick color that you featured. on this video! Tell your dad nice to meet him and give them both attaboys for doing such a great job with the stalls deconstruction and construction!

I love this video! Can't wait to see the new stalls! As much as I love all the horses, Koa is such a great dog. He's assisting in his own way!

I bet Penelope would have loved to walk through those stalls searching for any grain that the horses had spilled, but with splinters and nails around, it would have been hazardous for her. 🐷

I checked out Lakeland’s site. Their stall choices are functional and stunning. I love your choice of the white ash; it brightens up the barn. I saw how some barns have plants hanging from some of the posts. It made the barns look cozy. All I know, in the end, your design and product choices will be stunning. 🙂

Shae, my dad always did things like this for me. No matter how outlandish it was he went out of his way to make it happen for me. It's only now that he's gone that I realize he did all that crazy stuff because he LOVED me! Not because he liked being handy! So please treasure this time! ❤️ Yes they are doing it for the horses but mostly because they know you love the horses and they LOVE YOU most of all!

Love it! I was just thinking the sheds need to be painted white to match the barn (?). The black accents are more contemporary looking. I enjoyed Kyle sharing the slick new slider - good design! Your dad is really cute too, just like you. What a fun family project you are sharing today. Thank you, sweet Shae.
