Ed I too was just diagnosed with Parkinson jn early November. It's a game changer but you are fighting it big time. I've gotten myself a four-wheel walker and it really helps. Keep plugging away and enjoy Life to the maximum.. Bob

I am sorry to hear of your loss and this new challenge in your lives. Prayers for both of you and your family. Do what you can to support your health, but be slow to make irretractable decisions. You want to keep the things that give you joy in your life as much as you can. I know what you mean about medical facilities, though. Years ago my son began to have neurological symptoms, and we were sometimes traumatized by the other children we met at the geneticist's office at the children's hospital, for instance. (It turned out OK; he just has cerebral palsy that presented in an unusual way.)

So sorry to hear about your dad. I am so glad you are taking the Rock Steady Boxing class! It is a great class. As a nurse it is something that I know works. My mom also has Parkinson's & she is doing very well but she won't take the class. Please know that your community is strong & always here for you both. See you on down the road. ❤😊

you are a warrior Ed and with Nancy by your side, a good God up above, and friends surrounding you, you will be fine. You are looking at this the right way, so many people get news of health challenges and their attitude takes them down. One of my dad's best friends (also named Ed!) was diagnosed 12 years ago and he does great. Good diet, good (consistent) rest schedule, and he swims a mile every morning. You'll find your own combination of what works for you. Prayers, my friends!

I’m so sorry to hear of the loss of your father. May your memories help to sustain you and the family. Also devastated to hear of Ed’s diagnosis and know how uncertain you feel the future may be. I have a friend with Parkinson’s and she is doing ok. Some days better than others. She and her husband just bought a van camper and plan to do some traveling so don’t be discouraged. I think you will still be able to do what you’ve always done just maybe at a different pace. You are both in my thoughts and prayers! ☮️❤️☀️

My condolences on your fathers passing, so rough dealing with Alzheimer’s, I’m sure on his and your parts. Such an ugly disease. My grandfather recently passed from it as well 😢❤ Wishing you much prayers and blessings on your journey with Parkinson’s. I know y’all will be ok, your outlook is so positive and inspiring, how can it not be! Like Nancy, I’ve got an autoimmune arthritis (psoriatic) and it’s been a road to travel camping in our Rangerunner for sure. You both have been huge in reminding me I can do it no matter how much it hurts! We live next door, in Illinois where medical cannabis is legal. I know it isn’t in Indiana, but CBD should be ok for purchase there. I’ve heard promising things for any nervous system disorder and have experienced incredible results myself with my own autoimmune illness whenever my nerves become involved. If it’s ok with your doctor of course! I’m sure you gave tons of folks tossing you ideas though so take or toss 😊 Thank you for sharing and hope y’all have a wonderful holiday season!

It's also, a bummer hearing about your diagnosis with Parkinson's Disease; however, it's encouraging to know you have the slower kind of PD and that you have a many good years ahead. My dad was diagnosed 2 years ago. he does the boxing and he loves it. he has no tremors but other real strange symptoms . It is an odd condition and everyone is different. he sees a psychologist/social worker now since the diagnosis and it has helped him alot. they say his is probably from Vietnam and exposure to agent orange but who knows. He actually is in Vietnam with my mother right now. we were all surprised when he told us he wanted to go back. It may sound rough but his diagnosis was devastating and a blessing at the same time. he spent his whole life that i knew him angry and bitter (understandably so) but the diagnosis has in a way set him free from his past. I truly believe he is making things right with his family friends and his past. and that is a good thing. Continue to embrace life and all the crazy things living has to offer. and try your hardest to not waste time or energy on the SUCK.

We send along our deepest condolences on the passing of your father. My husband ( also 63) was just diagnosed with Parkinson's last month (and so was a close friend just 3 days later). We had several misdiagnoses including MS over the last two years. We too are in the stages of just figuring out where we go from here. While we will miss the frequent videos you simply have to put your health first. It sounds like you are on the right track- a healthy diet, exercise, and a positive attitude. I find that keeping him on a regular schedule with plenty of sleep helps some of his symptoms..

So sorry to hear all the news. Joel’s dad had Parkinson’s for a really long time and it didn’t slow him down. You guys are in our prayers.

My Dad had Parkinson’s from his mid fifties and was working until he was 70 and active until he was 80. He passed in his mid eighties.

I am sorry…,I am 62 and we planned to. Retire in 2024 and RV. In June 2023 I was diagnosed with Ocular Myasthenia Gravis. No cure….so right now travel is going to be hard. I can’t drive now.

Ed, sympathy on the loss of your father and so sorry to hear of your diagnosis. Please know we are praying for you and Nancy. We are so grateful for your videos. Your videos are the reason we have our Runaway and the reason we are having such a wonderful time camping.

First of all, condolences to you and the family on your father’s passing. It’s always hard to lose a parent. Secondly, I’m so sorry you are having to deal with Parkinson’s, but I know that you will be held in His hands along that journey. A couple of men that I know play pickleball and have said that it has helped them with balance and coordination and one of them is in the advanced stages but he keeps playing (and plays well too). Might be something for you to look into. And Nancy, if Ed is taking up boxing, you might want to reconsider smacking him around like you do! 😂 Seriously though, praying for you both that the Lord will uplift you and wrap His arms around you.
