…. and, if you have a drone, it would be a very good idea to take an overhead picture of the area of your yard and property, as well as anything now existing in the area, , and draw your plans using that. Doing it that way, it would give you a very good idea of the placement and how the buildings correspond to each other.

A pool would make more sense. You could do an above ground built partially into the ground. Cheaper than the pond and more family friendly. Marci, you could put large pretty bushes on the street side of the shop to hide it.

Fill in the pond. You have the pond farther back on your property. Just make a nice trail down there to fish. A nice above ground pool would look nice. You can remove the ladder when not using it so the boys can’t get in it alone. Your kids love being outside so much that taking a chance on leaving the pond and fencing. Don’t take the chance of the kids getting into the pond.

It would really be a big help. I know he owns a lot of his machines but some he had on temporary basis. But anyway.... You have a whole lot of work ahead and I can't wait to see the shop build. Really dusty though I hope all that dust doesn't get in the house and make people sick. I grew up on a pretty massive hay and cattle farm and the dust just gets all in the house. As far as the pool goes, I predict your income is going to allow you to flip that house and get a new build Barndo-minium with heated and cooled floors and a sweet attached workshop.

use rubbing alcohol on a cotton swab and you can get that marker off the kids quicker.

My thoughts, fill the pond and go the pool route. Ponds, the water gets warm and then algae comes and they look ugly. I think a pool would be safer with the kids. I love the the shop idea.

How about making a drawing of your property and then decide where everything will go? That way you can see exactly where you want to put the shop.

If and when the grid goes down, you will need the water for the animals. Bees are our lifeline. Once the bees are gone, life is gone.

I'm happy you're redoing Maverick's track. At what age do you plan to get Maverick riding a pedal bike on the track. I'm curious because I've seen some little kids Maverick's age in competitions and they used a regular motor cross pedal bike. I don't think I saw electric bikes in the event. They had a 3-4 year old age group and it carried on with groups separated by age. I'm looking forward to seeing him on the track again. I agree to ditch the pond. I think about the safety of the boys and accidental drowning. You can always make a new one when they get older. An above ground pool would be great but you can secure that’s easier than a big pond. I am so excited about the shop you are going to build. I like the idea that someone mentioned about building the shop with the well house inside it. The power pole could be eliminated if the meter was mounted right on the house or shop. Here in PA the meter and entrance stuff is always mounted on the side of the building.
