Always my favorite Trek since it really smashed idealistic thinking. It had the quest for tolerance and bettering one’s self-but was 1. A serial and not a stand-alone episode, you had to keep up 2. Gritty-dealing with politics, prejudice grey areas, atrocities, war, espionage, and it didn’t happen the good guys always one. 3. Real character arcs And more

I remember Michael Dorn saying he'd be in the final stages of make up when people like Avery would come in and be gone again in minutes and he'd be really wishing they could experience what he went through to become and being Wolf, especially when they'd go on about how they were always in and out of make up within minutes, then they did the first episode of season 5 when the four of them go into Klingon empire to assassinate Gowron and by the third day Michael was so sick of all their complaining about the Klingon make up that he couldn't wait until they finished the episode.

I recall him saying that he'd felt he'd already said everything he'd wanted to say, but I've seen the film twice and he's in there. He actually must have changed his mind and agreed to be interviewed; you can tell it's new footage (and not from the '90s) because he looks older. He doesn't say much, but he's there. If you've ever met him, you find out he's a very contrarian fellow, usually not answering the question asked, but skirting around to give more oblique answers or even just asking a question in return. He's fascinating.

There's a reason why actors like Vaughn Armstrong and Jeffrey Combs got recycled as different characters so much. It was hard finding an actor who was willing and able to work in that hot and heavy make up and still give a good performance. Most people just can't handle. One fairly well-known actor did one episode of "Enterprise" when he wasn't so well known and was so miserable that he would go home every night is tears and almost quit acting over it.

Used to be mine, until enterprise came out (wanted to love it, I just can't, I like more characters in ds9 and more of the story in ds9 than ST ENT)

I thought DS-9 started out very good, but then they wrote themselves into a corner with the stupid dominion war...

I love Star Trek to death and i like DS9, but even Trek's biggest fans will tell you that DS9 was copied from Babylon 5 though! The whole Dominion War was the show's equivalent of B5's "Shadow War" conflict for their series. So no they didn't paint themselves into a corner seeing as DS9 wasn't your a-typical Star Trek series dealing with exploration on a Starship like the other were. It had a setting like Bajor and a Wormhole nearby thus needed a setting and conflict of its own to boot!

If your on a space station, you are not in a star trek in any sense of the word. They realized this at some point and gave the captain a ship so he could leave the station and have adventures, you know, like star trek is supposed to. Never watched enterprise, Just didn't look worth my time. But DS9 absolutely sucked. Just sucked.
