I remember walking through Downing Street with my late parents, think it was the early 1960’s, long before it was gated in 81, look at it now was armed police officers.

I think that early route is (about 1.40) is down Blue Anchor Lane in Bermondsey, just before the railway tunnel over St James's Road. All those houses are gone now.
