As a lifelong Giants fan I have a couple of things to say... the covid play everyday postseason format was geared towards teams with deep rosters like the Dodgers which gave them a distinct advantage. And people want to talk about the shortened season. But LA performed at a high level, and you can't say it felt less stressful or important as Kershaw stood on the mound this post season. Give him his due props. Dave Roberts and the team as a whole. I can't take anything away from them. And as guy who has watched LA in our division my entire life, Kershaw is one of the most deserving players on and off the field. I'm not happy about it, but his journey has been a rough one, and he has my respect.

What happened the year before to LA and the year before that, and the year before that? Let me just say this: A huge "Thank you!!" to Stephen A. Smith for addressing this issue and addressing it well. You and I are in total agreement on this, Sir! I got so sick of hearing people get their jollies out of calling Clayton Kershaw "the choker" and I was at the point of choking a few people myself when the Dodgers won it all last night. That's what made me so hungry for a Dodgers World Series win. I wanted to see Clayton Kershaw kick himself free from all those losers once and for all, just a couple of games of watching him do what he does best ( which is "To Shine" 😁 ) and of course the natural outcome of all of this is obviously going to be an LA Dodgers win. Mr. Stephen A. Smith is brilliant, and I tip my cap to him for spelling out the defense of Kersh. Kersh has learned to see above and beyond all of the ugly name calling and just let himself "be." The result is Clayton Kershaw pitching at his finest hour. Clayton Kershaw will be my baseball hero forever. Thank you Mr. Smith for every word you said here!! 👏👏👏

I throw out Kershaw's start in game 5 of the 2017 world series when Houston was cheating because there is no way Kershaw coughs up a four-run lead and a three-run lead in the same game after dominating Houston in game 1 in Los Angeles. I still am a bit leery about the extent Boston cheated during the 2018 WS because I don't trust MLB's investigation (can you imagine what damage it would have done to the league if there was mass cheating in consecutive world series? its reputation would be mud)--but Kershaw did not pitch well during that series. I feel Kershaw more than delivered in this WS and cemented his HOF credentials--he has nothing more to achieve.

That boston team was dominant from start to finish. Not like those Astros who had a slow beginning and then took off indicating signal stealing. That bos team rivaled the 98 yanks both with reg season dominance and post season. Beating 2 100 win teams and only getting beat once in the world series needing extra innings to do it.

Maybe there is a gag order from MLB to prevent mentioning the sign stealing playoff cheating of Kershaw by the astros, Red Sox And even the Cardinals that Max mentioned astros executive went to the cardinals during the very beginning of Kershaw’s choking reputation. Well Kershaw choked outside these teams like with the Nationals, but the mental damage to ones confidence from being cheated carries over to make his 12-12 record in the playoffs and over 4 E.R.A. absolutely wrong. He should be 20-6 with 2.5 E.R.A if no sign stealing by Astros(proven), Red Sox(investigated, but not officially proven) and Cardinals(circumstantial, but suspicious).

Analytics is like a vague wide spectrum word. Although I understand also what was being said about previous games and it causing you to make some choices. Both are analyzed. Although the word could be referring to stats in one part of the conversation, as was inferred when he brought up stats from both seasons and even stated himself he agrees it’s not all about analytics 😂😂. “But it’s all analytics.” Sounds like a case of semantics because you want to be right.

If Clayton can keep this up in the playoffs for another 4-5 years then Yes! He is the greatest pitcher of his generation, possibly of all time. Watch out now cause he's going into 2021 a little more confident.
