The intro with the sax players reminds me of the kinds of videos they show as background for karaoke :D

I dig the Everdell box for all the stuff it stores. In a kallax cube where I had Wingspan, Meadow, Everdell-core, and Spirit Island, I now have Wingspan, Meadow, and Everdell-collectors. So, Everdell-collectors is effectively like 2 kallax cube slots. My Kalax isn't right up against the wall, so for me the box is just making use of that "wasted space". Now, I haven't tried to transport it yet... but I'm just talking storage here (hehe).

13:11 You don't discard the animalcard because there are sacred stones that give you points for every card of animal that is tipped!!!!!!

I agree this is a bit of a tricky teach with all the moving parts, but game streamlines with play. I’ve enjoyed so far.

I'm going to add the Kallax 20294619 to my existing Kallax collection and I think it'll hold Everdell and other oddball boxes.

@34:08 Quote of the year from Mike to go in the "end of the year" bloopers video. Especially when taken out of context.

I love how Tom was so anti the theme of The Bloody Inn but in this game he is gleefully murdering people (when that isn't even necessarily how they died) 🤣

13:10 Chris and Mike telling the tipped animals are just bragging rights. Fast forward to end and Chris scoring a lot from his tipped stag mooses 😅

I am hesitant to even call this a worker placement with only 4 places (essentially). It feels more like an action "boosting" game. You boost your actions by commiting cards, and food, to have really big turns. However overcommiting could leave you with nothing to boost your subsequent turns in a round, or to bid for turn order with. My favourite part is possibly the no hand limit, plus the fact that you draw 5 cards every round regardless. This could potentially make passing a viable strategy at times, and I imagine that you could set up some pretty powerful combinations.

Tom had clearly made his mind up before the game even began. Looking forward to hearing Chris' thoughts on this one.

I'm only an hour into the video (not live) and it seems Tom's pretty sour on the game! Unfortunate. I've been thoroughly enjoying my plays of it. I won't hold my breath for positive review from DT though XD

I’ve watched a few playthroughs of this game and I actually couldn’t make it through this one because I felt agitated at the poor decisions lol. I feel like this is one of those games where you really need to give examples during the teach. Also think more than one play is needed to fully grasp and appreciate this game.

As someone who hasn't played it before, I liked that they made mistakes or less than optimal moves and then talked about them because that is likely what I would do myself during my first few games 🤷🏽‍♀️

It's a Megalith, it didn't spend 8 years in Megalith school to be called Mono. Great playthrough though.

I can see why with a game like this! It's got a lot of disparate pieces that fit together more clearly when you play it (I assume).

This game comes off like disjointed. Like not complex per se but alotta different ideas kinda bolted together

The teach 100% feels like that but in play it all flows together very nicely. You can see how the different things interconnect. Definitely not a first experience judgement kind of game. Importance of card draws and eclipse phase really doesn't show itself on the first play at all.
