this is by far our favorite turntable. It has a smooth sensitive rotation and it's easy to clean and care for. Solid metal construction with a removable silicone base that keeps it in place while you are working. It doesn't have a lock so it you are accustomed to having one that does this might not be your best option.

Do you recommend this or cast iron base 613 Ateco turntable?

In general Ateco makes great stands. I've liked all the ones I've had. I like the aluminum stands like the 615 in the video and the 613 is very similar, its also aluminum and has the ball bearings to help it rotate smoothly. the main difference between the two seems to be that the cap on the bottom to keep the unit from slipping around on your table is silicone with the 615 and plastic with the 613, so that is more of a matter of personal preference. The cast iron ones like the 612 are really heavy so you don't need to worry about them moving around on the table but they don't have the same ball bearing mechanisms to help them turn smoothly. I use that style more when I need the cake to be elevated and need to work in one spot while occasionally re adjusting my position since it's not as sensitive. Hope this helps!

there is a link for the metal turntable in the description so you can look at the current pricing for this model. I bought mine a few years ago so they have done up in price. The plastic one is a discontinued wilton model but they and other brands still make similar items and they are more affordable than the metal ones. Hope this helps!

Hi... I want to buy this type of turntable but every time I spin it.. I see some wobbling problem.. it this normal for turntable?

Hi! We like this stand because it has a nice smooth glide to it. I've had some other turntables in past that wobbled a bit and that can make decorating harder. There are some other brands that make turntables that are very similar to this that might not be the same quality. This one has a very solid construction with a very smooth glide.
