Same bro!! I am always overjoyed that this music is reaching a younger generation! Too bad they were born in the wrong era!! Today’s music is criminally bad! Especially country; which, I thought was bad in the 1980’s. However; I was wrong. Today’s Hick-Hop country music is way worse!! I was literally at the hospital today for my mom; and every time I heard the sick lady vomit and spit it up in a bag; she must have been listening to some hick-hop country music😂😂😂😂

The guitarist is using a technique sometimes called finger-tapping or just tapping, and at times it was called a hammer-on, tap-hit, etc.; it just depended on who you ran with. Eddie Van Halen was probably the guitarist who made the technique most widely known (his solo "Eruption" is iconic), although other guitarists before him used it also (Steve Hackett from Genesis is a notable example). By the 80s, many guitarists were using the technique and it was pretty common to see it featured in a lot of rock videos from the era.

Another great one-hit wonder. Now this is 80s glam rock/hair metal at its best! I still crank this song to 11 whenever it comes on! Another fun fact - three of the guys in the band were named Steve. Steve Plunkett was the lead vocalist, Steve Lynch was the awesome guitarist, and Steve Isham played Keyboards. (Randy Rand played bass, and Keni Richards played drums, rounding out the band.)

While they were opening for Van Halen on the 1984 Tour, VH's management actually told Autograph's guitar player not to do any tapping, because "that's Eddie's thing." Funny thing was, on the underground L.A. circuit, Steve Lynch was already a tapping legend who was mastering an 8-finger tapping technique well before VH ever hit it big. So naturally, he was kind of like, WTF?

Well, unfortunately, this was the best song they ever did and they never did have another great one. "Send Her To Me" from this album was good but not great, and then the title song of *That's The Stuff* was just...meh. I used to think their cover of Grand Funk Railroad's "We're An American Band" was great until I listened to it recently and it's not even close to the original. It's way too glossy and glammed-up. I wanted to love this band too but "Turn Up The Radio" was literally the only great song they ever had.

That song brings back memories, it played at a club I’ve bartended at in Houston.. The reason a lot of people haven’t heard of them is because they were sort of a one hit wonder. There are some other good songs they put out but they never really took off. There’s a similar band I would love for you guys to review named Kings X, they are a three piece out of the Houston area and think you guys would really enjoy them. Could start with the song King or Summerland or dog man… Can’t go wrong

I am 52 and I was lucky enough to see Autograph live when they opened for Motley Crue when I was 14. The 80's was the best decade for music of all genres, it was easier to go to concerts then as tickets were only $15. Music was an escape for us, and I thank God up above the real music created by real musicians, singers and songwriters unlike todays music.

I'm sure somewhere in the comments it has been mentioned but in case it hasn't....you've probably heard Plunk's voice before and didnt realize it. He sang the theme song for the T.V. show 7th Heaven. I saw these guys numerous times in the 80s and they never disappointed!! Great (yet underrated) band that just threw it in your face and rocked!! 😎🤘

Fun fact, this being the band's first album (and music video) they didn't have a lot of money. So their manager came up with this brilliant idea of making a sponsorship deal for the video. The sponsor ended up being... you guessed it, Papermate! It might sound strange first but those pencils were hot in the 80's and it also went kinda well with their album's name "Sign In Please". Sponsors in music videos were pretty unheard of at that time. Also, the lead guitarist Steve Lynch won the "guitar solo of the year" award from Guitar Player magazine. I love this song and there's only one way to play it: LOUD.

You're right Amber The 80's hard Rock was more a time of Attitude. That is mainly why I got into that type of music Amber, cuz I was pretty much a loner in school so music was my personal escape from my desolate reality and helped me break my chains of oppression and express myself by dressing thrashy my junior high as well as High school years. I wore jeans with a torn knee caps, grew my hair out long, started wearing Black leather Biker jackets, Iron Maiden to AC/DC tee shirts and boots or if not black leather jackets sleevless Muscle shirts and denim vests. With hard rock group logo patches ,earrings of daggers on our left ears only or the Fallen Swan Song Led Zeppelin Icarus. Spiked bracelets, or neck collars with spikes on the collar. I have dressed up as both the Starchild (Paul Stanley) from Kiss as well as Bon Scott from AC/DC on separate occasions as well as Halloweens. I made it a point to get to know the genre of Hard Rock and Heavy metal intimately all my youth. I still prefer Classic Rock and old Heavy Metal groups music over today's contemporary music stations

The guitarist was doing a technique called tapping. What you do is hot the note with your fingers in a way that makes the note sound then you kind of flick it while holding another note with your other hand. Combined with another technique called hammer pull offs Wich is basically the same thing but with one hand. The master of tapping is Eddie Van Halen he didn't invent tapping but he definitely popularized it
