Chocolate needed because I added some entertainment to the garbage truck guys. I was riding my Gazelle Ebike on a loop ride. I passed the garbage truck at mile 8, then they got up speed and passed me in the same area. Later, after 10 miles more, across the river where I was riding I heard honking and looked and it was the garbage guys waving and honking. I think we were both cheered up. We needed that little interaction. Nice video and I am in awe at all the different stuff coming out.

Coolblue is somewhat like amazon, but mostly electronic goods. Tony chocolony's chocolat bars are divided in uneven pieces you can break off. It shows the inequality of profit between the producer, and the end seller, the more/harder work the less pay.

Your funnest video yet. Really enjoyed it. You got the trade show vibe spot on. Work, but like a holiday too. Exactly what work should be. I remember the Messe was actually in the old Zeppelin factory in the town centre when I visited a few times the Outdoor trade shows in the 90s. A shopping centre now. Which type of cargo bike are we talking about? Certain ones like the teen GSD and HSD have a feature where they can stand uprighted, so they can be put into a corner of an apartment or hallway quite easily. I agree, cargo bikes are AWESOME.

Dash Cam video recorder for bikes is what’s missing. We bikers need a good video system for bikes to protect ourselves from being falsely accused of causing an accident. They are standard equipment on most cars now, but there is nothing appropriate for a five hour bike ride.

I have read that in the USA HPVs and HPVs with electric assist cannot have four wheels. I think this is a mistake. It is right to limit the size, weight and power of these vehicles but not the number of wheels. All the wheel limit to three does is force manufacturers to make less stable three wheelers when they could be making four wheelers.

Nice to see you strolling around on eurobike, where the innovation definitely is in the e-bike part: not so strange if you see that [in Europe] those here are taking over the not supported market. Also, a lot of multiplicities not allowing big trucks in their centers, banning co2-driven vehicles [like mopeds], or turning them into pedestrian/bike areas; so more solutions have to come from these kinds of innovations that still can drive on bike-paths. The history of coolblue [NL/BE]: build a strong service-driven online shop, put some physical shops in bigger cities where you can show/demonstrate/get service [almost no stock], turn those into hubs for an area, and drive (with cargo bike) from that hub. Bigger/heavy parts (fridges, washing machines, etc) and remote areas are still delivered by a truck though. Gonna skip on Tony's Chocolonely, because it would be unfair to anybody outside their "country of origin", but highly recommend :-) Hope you had a blast being there, made some good deals, and bring some innovations back to your shops (like the new Bosch eco-system, looks promising: more integration of the smartbike concepts). Pretty sure need some videos to keep us up to date on those :)

Any predictions for 2022 (other than more ebikes sold)? Disappointed that Riese & Müller, Tern, etc. didn’t make any announcements. Will the bikes go on a carbon diet, when will you have bikes with the new Bosch components in stock, will the US offer rebates for buying ebikes, will there be more ebikes / components from the traditional bike / components manufacturers, when will the supply chain bottleneck open up, will automatic transmissions become common, etc? Fwiw, I’m a weight weenie roadie looking to buy an urban / commuter ebike to replace a car, and I’m surprised by all the unexpected differences between road bikes and ebikes. I have learned a lot from your videos, and I do appreciate the time you spend making them. Always looking forward to your next video!

@Cl0ckcl0ck
@Cl0ckcl0ck 2 жыл бұрын
The Rhine Falls (German: Rheinfal) , singular) is a waterfall located in Switzerland and the most powerful waterfall in Europe. The falls are located on the High Rhine on the border between the cantons of Schaffhausen (SH) and Zürich (ZH), between the municipalities of Neuhausen am Rheinfall (SH) and Laufen-Uhwiesen/Dachsen (ZH), next to the town of Schaffhausen in northern Switzerland. They are 150 metres (490 ft) wide and 23 metres (75 ft) high. In the winter months, the average water flow is 250 m3/s (8,800 cu ft/s), while in the summer, the average water flow is 600 m3/s (21,000 cu ft/s). The highest flow ever measured was 1,250 cubic metres per second (44,000 cu ft/s) in 1965; and the lowest, 95 cubic metres per second (3,400 cu ft/s) in 1921. The falls cannot be climbed by fish, except by eels that are able to worm their way up over the rocks.

I'm not German, but I believe it's pronounced Friedrichs/Hafen literally: Friedrich's Haven. Haven comes from a germanic root that means something like port or harbour. Kind of like we say Air - Port they call it a hafen. Think also of Nyhavn in Copenhagen which is a small port in the center of the city.

I really like your videos and find them very informative and entertaining. But I have to wonder - you're always going to different cities and conventions - how much flying are you doing to promote a sustainable lifestyle? I don't want to sound like a moralist and no doubt you've struggled with this issue as well - so how do you reconcile it?
@Propelbikes
@Propelbikes 2 жыл бұрын
Rob, this is a great point and something I have been thinking a lot about. I’m not sure I fully have it sorted out yet. I do feel pretty strongly that we need to transfer more of this technology to the US and making in person connections can go a long way. I guess making the videos makes it count more because at least more people are able to learn and experience what I’m seeing and doing. I do have another idea which is a bit difficult to reconcile at the moment. I have an idea to travel around doing interviews with people throughout the world to show the cycling experience in different cities and those that are helping shape it. This obviously requires travel, but I have been thinking on different ways to handle it to be more sustainable as I think it can be very valuable in the greater mission of getting more people on bikes
